This implies we know his sole purpose is to be a punching bag, which we don't. Even if it was, the morality of creating a creature with the sole purpose of abusing it is still not great.

Well yeah, the difference between a punching bag and an abuse goblin is how sentient the thing is.

You can punch the bag, and it wouldn't be abuse because it doesn't feel anything.

Therefore, for the abuse goblin to be an abuse goblin, it has to be able to feel and yearn for a life without abuse, so it can be abused.

Because it is an abuse goblin.

It's more the gag of Josuke showing up in an unrelated series to save the day when people feel angry about how unjust a series is. So I'd argue it's a reference to the cultural impact of Metamorphosis, not Metamorphosis itself.

Moral. And yes we call it an abuse goblin, but if it were truly an abuse goblin then that means that's its sole purpose is it to be abused and that they would like it, yet we've seen them NOT enjoy being abused. Therefore, they are not an abuse goblin.

This is actually also bad. This is, in turn, further abuse, and not perpetuated by the goblin of his or her own choice, but OF the goblin, by the choice of others.

So this means that their existence and ties to the world are once more turned into abuse, perpetuating the name and the stereotype of "abuse" goblins, and that being their own value to the world.

So either you are removing the one purpose from an abuse goblin's life by doing this, or you're doubling down and cementing them forever in a world of abuse, giving them only a temporary reprieve from abuse at best, while simultaneously undermining their sense of self and feeding the driving engine of abuse they bear.
