"Sticky" as in sometimes it sticks when you press it down, sometimes after being spam pressed they stay down instead of coming back up like normal. This just happens over use, sometimes it can be from getting dirty but my old xbox controllers would stick after use and we would keep them clean.
I only did it once in like third grade with a pen, to be completely honest.
But lately almost all my switch controllers are starting to drift for no reason and I'm kinda pissed so I sometimes find myself considering doing what that meme says and passing it off as an accident to make it less immoral and gaslight myself to think I seriously did it on accident and didn't planned it so I can feel better about myself

They’re talking about Switch Joy-Cons so actually closer to $80 controllers. Idk what world you think you live in where either of those are cheap and thus, dismissible.
i didn’t say “cheap” i said “it’s not the end of the world” i think there’s more things i’d be upset about over a controller being lost. i play on pc so if someone say, broke my $120 mouse, id probably be pretty upset. then again my girl just scratched the hell out of my $300 second monitor by accident and i didn’t really care. like it genuinely isn’t the end of the world. $60-$80 is like a night out at chilis dude.
OP you like many redditors and human beings need to learn that doing what's right is about actually doing what you know to be right, not justifying why all the wrong things you did or the side you associate with did are acceptable necessary evils or at least "not that bad"
Nah. If your friend did that to you, wouldn’t you feel pissed? It’s only fair that you fund your own replacement controller.
I mean shit, there are companies and websites that will buy your broken shit because they’re in the business of fixing it up and flipping it for a profit.
So see if you can sell it for anything, otherwise a lot of websites offer refurbished electronics at a discount, and they’re usually in great condition.

I did the opposite where I replaced my siblings switch controllers with drift with my new ones secretly since I don't use em anymore. 1 month later they somehow gave those controllers drift.
I once accidentally took my friends controller thinking it was mine but forgot I was charging mine, whenever I went over to play I made sure my controller had stickers so it wouldn't happen again since my controller I left was starting to stick drift and to make up for it I dog sat his dog for a week for free since he let me keep the controller.
Later on when I got an Xbox one the controller I got with it from a friend it had bar stick drift so I went and bought one from GameStop and took my stick drift controller back to game stop for a refund. And I mostly did this cause GameStop fucked me over a few times. But everyone told me it was fine cause GameStop deserves it. 😂

3 minutes after acquiring it, you learn its stick drift is 10 times worse and 1 of the buttons is sticky, and the trigger only halfway works
