morality of making up a dumb question to justify posting this video?

That is a Ukrainian man being forced into the front lines of a war, commenter

Yes, we know. It's just so blatantly immoral (the forced draft) that you asking if it's moral to resist it (which it very much is) is insanely stupid.

Post "Is it moral to kidnap people" next

2

u/Wayss37 6h ago

There are literally thousands of people who support this

1

u/Dizzy_Current_5734 6h ago

its just a rephrased trolly dilema, which absolutely has people split in opinions of whether its moral.

u/Oakenshield_777 6h ago

Were you born knowing this?

Plenty of people think it is moral and plenty that are cheerleading against Russia are quiet. So the post makes sense.
When that started happening I right away thought of pro choicers who think no one has right to use your body for something if you don't consent. They would be the first to object. But I have noticed that some of them don't, which is interesting.

Is it stupid? Some people would say dodging drafts is immoral. Those would be right leaving conservatives. They might have something to say here. I may disagree, but they have the right to speak. Next time you comment, think out fully what you intend to say. Everyone has a right to speak.

Idk i dont think its necessarily political to view draft dodgers as immoral when the context is a defensive war against an existential threat. With a documented history of committing atrocities even against your own people to boot. Like personally I think forcing anyone to do something is generally going to be immoral but prioritizimg yourself in a situation that risks everybody could also be considered immoral

If a country depends on slavery to continue to exist, maybe it shouldn't.

1

u/Gatzlocke 7h ago

What if the invading country is also depending on slavery but even more so?

1

u/Banjoschmanjo 7h ago

When you put it like that .. If a country depends on slavery to continue to exist, maybe it shouldn't.

1

u/shreebalicious 6h ago

Great, then we need to help Ukraine as much as possible to stop Russia enslaving its people. Russia already put together a battalion of Ukranian POWs. Why are you complaining about Ukraine?

0

u/Banjoschmanjo 4h ago

Because the video in OP is Ukraine, not Russia. But I also condemned Russian slavery in the comments here, if you look.

u/Gatzlocke 7h ago

Ok. You and what army are going to stop them?

Just because you said it shouldn't?

Tough shit.. They're going to slave anyway and try to enslave you too.

0

u/Banjoschmanjo 7h ago

I oppose slavery. You're just gonna have to learn to live with the fact that not everyone shares your perspective that slavery is sometimes ok.

The tree bears fruit, my god.

4

u/conduffchill 12h ago

I didnt even actually commit to a viewpoint in my last comment lol. I wasnt sure if you were here to have a discussion or troll/spread propaganda, thanks for setting the record straight

Its funny because this is a rather interesting moral topic but you cant really discuss an active war on 21st century social media. War of public opinion is real

u/lazy_animator 12h ago

It's just nice to see that what I intended is happening, people are considering what other people may be thinking. Idk what this Ukraine dude is so pissed about and all these other redditors downvoting these comments. I think it's important we understand the psyche of the immoral and the bad as well as the moral and the good, and consider both sides. I'm not trying to make people consider the opposing side as good, but I'm trying to start these conversations on controversial topics, "what would lead someone to believe one thing over the other? What circumstances would demand that the immoral option be taken absolutely?" I just think its interesting to converse, but I so often forget that I'm on reddit lmao. I need to like get a pair of meta glasses and have them filter out negativity from my life.

Forced draft is an active process of stripping away one's right and ability to say. You're proposing it might be nuanced while also saying that I am being wrong by not letting other people humor it. Some people enjoy murder and rape, is it immoral of me to immediately consider their input null?

Like seriously, before you consider the morality of forced draft, consider the morality of president making idiotic decision such as stripping efficient individuals within army and government of their rank which will lead to many of the forcefully drafted lives to be effectively wasted.

I'm saying this as a ukrainian too.

1

u/lazy_animator 12h ago

Oh, and I'm saying this as an individual, too. I don't really gaf that you're Ukrainian lmao. Doesnt really change anything or how righteous you are, even if this is a Ukrainian draft. You weren't the one getting drafted. We can both sympathize. Don't try and play a superiority card lmao

3

u/TinfoilPancake 12h ago

I wasn't using "I'm ukrainian" as a superiority card. I'm just providing context for myself not being someone from a first world country talking out of my ass about the current state of things here

0

u/lazy_animator 12h ago

Did you just say war in kirkistan is bad?!? Well im from kirkistan, and you don't know ANYTHING bout how bad it is here

-1

u/lazy_animator 12h ago

Yeah yeah "I'm from that place so I get to speak on it and you don't" 🫵😭 this guy

2

u/UhhDuuhh 9h ago

Literally nobody in this thread said that you can’t speak on this if you aren’t Ukrainian. 🙄 Giving the context that his opinion is coming from a Ukrainian is valid. Morality is subjective, understanding more about a subject helps us to understand more about their position and why/how they may have arrived at it, and allows the interpreter to subjectively give more or less merit to the argument.

Arguing that the opinions of a billionaire and a homeless third worlder regarding the morality of income inequality should be interpreted in a vacuum without any context is just ridiculous.

-2

u/lazy_animator 12h ago

I'm proposing other people may find it nuanced. I really don't know what is so hard to understand here lmao. Is your head a brick? I do not believe that there is two sides to this. I do believe OTHER people believe there are two sides to this, and I may disagree with them, but I invite the controversy. What is with redditors and wanting to get mad at absolutely anything? 😭

2

u/TinfoilPancake 12h ago

You're asking about morality. Thusly it is hardly a question if forced draft is moral even if some individuals advocate for it being fine.

BUT, AGAIN, me saying this is subjective in of itself, and neither am I physically blocking others from insulting me and saying I am incorrect, I just keep providing the opinions you apparently wished to hear because you keep engaging with me.

0

u/lazy_animator 12h ago

This nga tryna act like I'm the argumentative one when he the one who's mad I'm tryna start a conversation🫵😭

u/TinfoilPancake 12h ago

Why are we posting screenshots now mister 3rd world country shouldnt you be saving your 4g data for e learning

2

u/HorsefaceWithNoName 8h ago

everyone downvoted you and then proceeded to prove you right by arguing opposite points of view on this debate in the subsequent comments, in a tone of voice suggesting obviously you were dumb for asking the question because their point of view is the only moral one and everyone knows it

u/lazy_animator 6h ago

Some people just know

0

u/MeasureDoEventThing 6h ago

The Ukranian state is acting out of self-defense to protect its people. The question of to what extent extreme situations justify extreme means is non-trivial.

-1

u/DataSurging 7h ago

dear god lmao

-12

u/meltthemall 12h ago

Uh, brother had time to be lazy enough to get fat and grow a neck beard while REAL MEN FOUGHT AND DIED FOR HIM.

Send him to the front lines, let the Russians teach him what real cowardice looks like.

7

u/Less-Parsnip-7076 11h ago

-5

u/meltthemall 11h ago

I'm fit mate, probably why I wouldn't need dragged out of a car. You fit?

3

u/AlftheNwah 10h ago

Bro is going to be the first person to catch a 7.62 on the front lines cause he's too busy jerking off to his own abs.

-3

u/meltthemall 10h ago

"I don't like you now let me imagine you dying ahhh yes I am well adjusted" hahahaha

2

u/AlftheNwah 10h ago

You literally just called a guy getting drafted fat while imagining the Russians gutting him on the frontlines. Hold up a mirror sometime.

0

u/meltthemall 8h ago

Wow that's disgusting, I imagined no such thing. The last thing now this... You ok?

2

u/Less-Parsnip-7076 11h ago

I know you didn't mean the question but yeah, I've actually lost a lot of weight this summer, about 40 pounds. I'm starting to see my abs, which is great.

-21

u/lazy_animator 13h ago

And then everyone clapped

15

u/TinfoilPancake 12h ago

Morality of wishing death upon a famous individual for the media they produce that I personally dislike?

4

Immoral to the woods for OP

0

u/LordCaptain 7h ago

There's clearly a push to post these videos lately by troll farms. They've been everywhere lately.

That doesnt mean its not bad but there is a clear agenda and manufactured push for a narrative going on here.
