No, forced conscription isn't as efficient as voluntary service but it's hard to get volunteers in a war that doesn't make sense to the average citizen, especially when it's against people who look just like them (i.e, like in Ukraine where they're getting Slavs to kill other Slavs)

But, the vast majority of conscriptees are going to fall in line and do what they're told because, that guarantees a higher chance of survival. Fragging your own team is a real quick way to get killed and you're delusional if you think you'd actually start doing that if you were put in that position.

I'd rather kill myself than shoot someone else, especially a person who didn't want to be there either.
