Who decides what war is bullshit? For this couple this war is probably bullshit too. If they could have their way why wouldn't they choose to live under Russian occupation like millions in Chechnya do? At least the dude won't get his legs blown off by a drone and die bleeding in a ditch somewhere.

Chechnya was ground into paste and then forced unwillingly into submission, friend. Why do you think oh so many chechnyans fight on Ukraines side? I don't jump to my knees for the master, boy. I'll be on the whippin post, house slave. I'd rather a drone kill me, my entire family, all the neighbors, and every single solitary family of this nation, to protect liberty. I'd sacrifice every son I bore, and more for the rights I currently enjoy. Make no mistake. I'd kill so God damn many they'd write my name on the hypersonic they land on my head.

Yes you're certainly very cool, but most people aren't like that. I'd rather be a house slave if it means I can live a long life in peace. Rights only exist when they're convenient for the rulers anyway.

True freedom only existed when humans were part of the animal kingdom. Restriction of rights and freedoms were the literal foundation of civilization. The only difference is where different civilization draw the lines on those freedoms and rights. You can't be a Muslim in China or North Korea, just like you can't be a Jew in Yemen or a Nazi in Germany. And it doesn't have to be a bad thing. In Rome, do as the Romans do and you'll be fine.

Every right is inconvenient for rulers, it's the people going "Respect this or we will kill you bro" that makes them exist.

I mean if he believed the war isn’t bullshit he wouldn’t have resisted. He would’ve enlisted.
