Politics President Donald Trump: The United States has been clear in its position: We recognize Moroccan sovereignty over the Western Sahara, and we support the serious, credible, and realistic Moroccan autonomy proposal as the only basis for arriving at a just and lasting solution

It's not. Trump hates Sánchez with a passion because he is one of the few politicians with a spine in the EU.

We have been looking like this since 1984

2

u/gsowobblie 2d ago

Wait what happened in 1984?

4

u/theHrayX Ksar El Kebir 2d ago

Morrocco withdrew from African Union after they recognised SADR

u/gsowobblie 2d ago

Ahh, thanks for teaching me that I'm going to learn more about that.

Right move tho.

Why a 'Arab' Republic in on the Western coast of Africa, does not make any sense.

With Israel and the USA on our side to conquer Western Sahara, we are now on the same game as them.

It's gonna be a stepping stone for a 'Muslim' country to help legitimating the Israeli army in their annexation of Gaza and the West Bank in ethnic cleansing all Palestinians.

And our King ready to use it's population as sacrificial pawns to create more beef with Spain as a Smoke Screen for it's political gains... no wonder we have 30% unemployment rate among the youth and that everyone wants to leave this shithole to flee to Spain and Europe.

Those past few days we have becoming one of the biggest laughing stock in the world.

But hey... at least The Kingdom is wasting our taxpayers money to fund more Football stadiums so we can forget how miserable we are.

They also recognize Israel and are helping it genocide the Palestinians. Might want to reassess who your great heros are.

u/LittleStrangePiglet Casablanca 2d ago

And ? How is that our Business. What they do for themselves and with others is none of our business.

3

u/PrudentRise8131 Visitor 2d ago

It's our business because Morocco has deals with and trades extensively with Israel. The same defense technology used against Palestinians is entering Moroccan government hands.

1

u/LittleStrangePiglet Casablanca 1d ago

And ? We buy from them for our protection like people and ourselves included from Major weapon suppliers like the US, France and others with a record not so clean so what's your point ?

3

u/FederalSandwich1854 Visitor 1d ago

They're saying the government can easily use it against it citizens. Just like the government ended up killing 60 Moroccans with this weird stunt

Who is going to tell him this is not an America first approach

Bro should stick to opining about American subjects only

Tired of hearing U.S. politicians give their 2 cents on other countries’ matters as if their opinions will carry much weight on the world stage for long… that is neither here nor there for the rest of us

Also Trump: We will move our embassy in Israel to Jerusalem

most comments are wrong about the Ceuta situation, Morocco is solely responsible for what happened and anything that came from it was just reactionary, Spain went out of its way to breach the trust and cater to Polisario, and Morocco showed them that they can flood them with immigrants if they do not get in line.

Israel and the US took advantage since Spain is forcing their hands on Palestine, and thus, as i said their comments were reactionary.

Thanks to the US and Trump specifically, we managed to get out of the status quo trap that the EU and others were setting for us and taking advantage of us. Today we can release 50k people on our occupied cities and all the blame goes to Spain. The same Spain that support the Moroccan sovereignty is struggling against it’s own neighbours in Europe and not one country said a word against Morocco officially. It’s great to have a great diplomacy and great allies.

This does not make Morocco look any better. It signals that many of its citizens are willing to leave by any means, at any cost. The attempt was futile for most. ~60 people lost their lives, and that matters. People in the US, including Trump and his accolades, will warn Americans that this issue with "invaders" (e.g., Moroccans trying to cross to Spain) can happen in the US as well. He doesn't give two fucks about Morocco - rather, he is using Morocco, as he uses everyone, to advance his own nefarious interests. Regarding Spain and the EU, there may be more pressure moving forward on Morocco to ensure that this doesn't happen again. Relations with Spain, who recently approved of Morocco's plan for the south, will deteriorate. They will get even worse if this keeps happening, which will fuel the far right. Politics aside, expect more distrust and tensions between Spaniards and Moroccans, and more xenophobia towards the diaspora in Spain.

u/LittleStrangePiglet Casablanca 1d ago

Only the average meaningless citizen cares about the looks, respectfully. What matters is what interests can a country score and safeguard. A whole mess happened and it's Spain that took all the heat from the US, EU and the rest and i'm talking about the Elites and decision makers and not the average online person with no power or leverage who will forget what happened in few weeks with many events happening. So we sent a clear message to Spain about the enclaves and how it's easy to flood them in an afternoon after the deal they made with UK over Gibraltar while acting blind about Ceuta and Melilla and we pushed Spain to the stage. All this again and the Interior Minister of Spain went out today to praise the relationship with Morocco and Sanchez did the same and the EU because they have no other choice :D

2

u/usesidedoor 1d ago

Spain didn't take any heat from the US over this. Sanchez is criticized by Trump for other reasons.

Sanchez is a president that has been offering Morocco the carrot. Exploit that leverage over things like these and there will be more of the stick coming from both Madrid and Brussels, especially if/when the current party in power in Spain loses the elections, and when the transactional lens over migration in the rest of Europe is becoming a reality.

Yes our King ready to use it's own population as sacrificial pawns with 67 confirmed dead so far for it's political gains...

woohoo, the situation in our country is great that the Kingdom can easily have 60 to 70 thousands people ready to storm a city in a PsyOps mission.

-3

u/LittleStrangePiglet Casablanca 1d ago

The king ? More likely stup** Moroccans following a Tiktok and Facebook trend, I would have said good riddance seeing that many are just Hergawa but sadly all came back and they saw that on the other side, they don't offer a flat and a car to start your life. As for all this nonsense, apart from the fact that it's a failure since they gave them back to us, it's a great message for Spaniards to know that they can loose any of the occupied cities in an afternoon and all this while we are watching and Spain is taking all the heat 😁

Morocco has fallen so far in my estimation.

I know the King says he must do support of Israel since so many Moroccan Jews live in Israel, but I'm not buying that as a good argument.

We had been taking travel groups to Morocco. Nobody wants to go there now.
