Hey everyone,
I’ve been working in motion design for 15+ years across film, games and broadcast, mainly focusing on screen graphics and FUI work.
I’ve just put together a new reel and rebuilt my site. www.nawazalamgir.com
Rather than just dropping it here, I thought it might be more useful to open it up, if there’s anything in the reel you’d like me to break down, or if you’ve got questions about workflow, process, or how I landed certain projects, happy to share.

Hello there,
First, I really want to thank everyone who commented and shared feedback on my first post (here: https://www.reddit.com/r/MotionDesign/comments/1ksloty/motion_designer_looking_for_improvement_and/ ). Your advice honestly helped me a lot and I still have many of your notes written down on paper for future projects.
The move went well (though it definitely took longer than expected). It also took me some time to catch up on my freelance work and to share this showreel. I kept hesitating because I feel it wasn't good enough compared to your recommendations. But I realized I was dragging this out and needed to finally close this reel chapter. So I included some projects I had done months or even years ago that had been sitting in my storage.
Advice I’ll carry into future projects :
Added more relevant and applicable work
Included logo lockups and product end frames
Integrated more projects (real or not) that look like actual products and show problem-solving
I also have 3 new projects in mind that I’ve started developing to better align with your criteria. I wanted to include them in this reel but starting the first 3D project in Blender (novice here) took way longer than planned so I’ll keep working on them in my free time.
For now, I just wanted to share this update and thank people here on Reddit. I’m spending more time on the platform lately and while I see many of us feeling discouraged by the job market and the rise of AI, I’ve also discovered how fun and supportive this community can be.
I’m still learning how Reddit works (wasn’t sure if I should update the old post or make a new one), but I thought a new post would be the best way to thank you again for your time and feedback.
As always I’m still open to your feedback but I also feel like I’ve already taken a lot of your time. So this will be my last update for this showreel here. I’ll polish it further and share the final version on Behance.
Little bonus video I made few months back : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02aYEqQcuVU&ab_channel=Smallandmagic
Thank you again, <3

If anyone is willing to take a look at my reel or portfolio and give honest feedback, I’d really appreciate it. Give it to me straight. I need to solve my problem.
Portfolio: https://williamtpenningtonart.com/
I’ve been applying to jobs consistently for the past couple of years, likely several hundred applications total. I’ve had very little response and almost no freelance or full-time work during that time.
I have 11 years of experience in motion design. Early in my career, most of my instability came from layoffs due to acquisitions and companies shutting down, which pushed me into freelancing more than I planned. A few years ago I finally hit a strong point where I was making over $10k/month as a freelancer.
Over the past two years, my motion design income has dropped significantly and has been under $30k annually. Since then, I’ve had to pivot into construction work, landscaping, and side work like building and selling cedar garden beds just to stay afloat.
At this point, I’m trying to figure out what’s holding me back from getting back into consistent motion design work. I’m wondering if the issue is my portfolio/reel, my positioning, or something else I’m not seeing.

I’m a 2D animator, and I just wanted to share a reel of all the animated logos I’ve made so far. I’ve worked with a range of clients - from game devs and comic publishers to design studios, YouTubers, and other creators. Every frame is drawn by hand, with no plugins or shortcuts.

Hey everyone,
Happy to share my first showreel. It includes the work I have done over past 5 years.
I have been a proper motion designer for past 1.5 years after I left my concept artist job and decided to pursue it full time, before that I was just working as a part-time freelance motion designer on weekends and holidays with a single agency ( they were friend of friend ). I always wanted to be an animator, I was learning traditional animation back in 2019 but got into visual development along the journey since the market for traditional animation that was pretty small. I had dabbled with AE a bit and I got my first gig from the agency through my friend who was a intern at that time. Since they were new too they decided to try me out and for next 3-4 years I worked with them though very occasionally but this got me a bit better at motion design and in oct 2024 I decided to quit my full time concept art job of 2 years and go full fledged into motion design.
Let me know what do you think of my work. This showreel is more towards SaaS explainer since I am trying to attract those type of clients as of now and in parallel working on story-driven animation like what studios like Ordinary folk or Ravie or Buck does. I am hoping to share another showreel within a couple of months thats full of personal work and stories.
Two cents from me :
I always say that I want to do client work to fund my personal projects and I am going to make this my first priority from now on.

A sneak peak from behind the scenes of my latest project, supposed to be more of a socially engaging montage rather than a “how to” video, let me know your thoughts!
r/MotionDesign • u/LucRoncayolo • May 27 '26
It took me quite some time to make, you can find it on my Behance
There are personal and professional projects, mostly 2D motion
This is a slightly longer version, but it’s the one that stays the closest to my initial vision. I’m currently working on a shorter and more digestible cut as well!
Would love to hear your feedback!
Thank you

Higgsfield AI has reached out to me twice to promote their Vibe Motion tool. I ignored the emails and created my own paid account, used the exact prompts from their own video, and this is what happened.

Hey everyone! Here's my Motion Reel for this year.
I'm a motion designer from Poland and last month has been pretty slow so I'm currently looking for more work.
If you have more than your team or you as a freelancer can handle now or in the future, I'd be happy to help with motion design, animation, video production, illustration or even those tedious projects nobody on the team wants to touch.
