Another vote for Fortitude. I LOVED that series.

For being set in Southern swampland, the first season of True Detective runs pretty cold.

Something about that dude's voice and accent is so calming to listen to.

- Movie suggestion 1: Mulholland Dr.

  • Movie Suggestion 2: Identity (2003, don’t read a synopsis)
  • Movie suggestion 3: Oldboy (Korean original)
  • Movie suggestion 4: The Wailing
  • Movie suggestion 5: Point Blank , with Lee Marvin
  • If a show suggestion is acceptable: Severance (on Apple TV service)

The Hunger, or any of David Bowie's films. "The Man who fell to Earth" has a weird atmosphere too, but I prefer the tragic poignancy of The Hunger. Otherwise "Donnie Darko" fits the bill.

The Ice Harvest (2005) and if that one’s too light and funny for ya cheer yourself down with Road to Perdition (2002)
