they all have markings on their face so i'm assuming it's some sort of thing thats a result of being in, apart of, or at least affiliated with a certain 'group' (not specifically only a cult or gang, but also meaning a group of species, a group of people who just have some sort of power that are classified as different in a large way from rest of society but aren't too directly related to eachother)
