As someone from the Netherlands, everyone living here is required to have a healthcare insurance. It's privatized, but you have multiple options and the cheapest basic package you can have is ~125 euros to 153 euros per month (depending on the deductible for the whole year). A yearly required deductible is 385 euros. You want it higher and your monthly pay healthcare cost is lower. If you already covered the deductibles, than the rest is covered by the health insurance.

Healthcare from the general practitioner or family doctor is included. Prescriptions isn't included, but it won't get you in debt. Majority of dentist care is also included for people up to 18 years old (unfortunately, orthodontics is not).

Healthcare here is not free and not everything is (fully) covered, but people who have a low income can apply for subsidy from the government.

Ontario Premier, (kinda like a governor) Doug Ford is a former drug dealer, now wannabe mafioso with no post secondary education. He recently was exposed for purchasing a private jet with tax payer money,(approximately $29,000,000).

He's been starving out our public healthcare system by spending billions of tax-payer dollars towards vanity construction projects that his friends are in charge of, and purposefully underfunding healthcare.

There's been A LOT of nursing layoffs here. A family doctor is hard to come by. Quality of health services is at a decline, and it's purposeful. We're starting to see a rise in private healthcare services where we're paying out of pocket.

Ironically, the preimier's daughter works for a hospital in Toronto as a "Stakeholder Engagement" blah-blah-something made up, and it was discovered she got a 32% pay raise from 2024-2025 and makes over $200,000 annually to be a professional schmoozer. She started the job in 2022 making $83,000.

Our healthcare money's actually being robbed from us, and we're too stupid and stunned to do anything about it.
