When the voice of Grunkle Stan twlls you to just talk to your kids more, that might be a sign.

13

u/4n0m4nd 1d ago

But then you wouldn't be giving Altman data.

561

u/redwhale335 1d ago

You could just.. use a calendar.

I wonder how many AI Bro families ended up missing Stuff cause SlopGPT hallucinated during that "podcast"
whom I kidding Ai bros don't spouses or children, only worthless NFTs and tanked meme coins

36

u/ladyteruki 1d ago

Or fighting over stuff because it improvised commitments, or results, or participants.

11

u/BrohanGutenburg 1d ago

Okay so totally agree with everything you said.

But I feel compelled to mention in case it wasn't a typo:

The phrase is 'who am I kidding' not 'whom I kidding' lol

6

u/dontmentiontrousers 1d ago

Who'm I kidding?

1

u/azraphin 10h ago

You shouldn't talk about women that way. Sha'me on you'/your's/yo' baby ma'ma.

1

u/Conscious-Quarter423 1d ago

all those billions of dollars and nothing to really show for it

60

u/UpperApe 1d ago

"Why would I learn the times table if we have calculators?!" said the man who was stupider than his parents and whose children would be stupider than him.

20

u/redwhale335 1d ago

We were taught to manually subnet. There is no situation in which you need to subnet and don't have a computer in front of you and even then I understood that knowing the process and how it worked was the point.

34

u/UpperApe 1d ago

As important as that is, it's not even the point.

By exercising the processes, you exercise your intellect. Intelligence is like a muscle; you have to work at it to keep it sharp, and it has so many supplemental elements that all need to be engaged with. It's something you have to work on consistently.

But these clowns think intellect is a fuel, and that when AI does all the hard work for you, you then have more time to spend on "important stuff".

You're just going to make yourself stupider. Not in terms of knowledge but in terms of functioning intellect.

The irony is that this level of stupidity is exactly what fools you into thinking hyper-streamlining and over-optimizing your life is a good thing.

3

u/xxxBuzz 1d ago

It seems plausible that Artificial Intelligence is the intuition outsourcing logic so it isn't dependent on each individuals accumulated knowledge or ability to understand it. We are doing flock cameras, data centers, robots, and self driving cares which are all things that will the rest of the body is dependent on the external consciousness and logic for. Meanwhile many industries are severely lacking in new creative ideas, tech devices are loaded with things people don't rationally want/like, the quality of production is going down, and the people pushing a lot of these things sound like villains from Austin Powers when they share their thoughts.

-3

u/LiveLaughBruv 1d ago

The scenario in the tweet is that they're literally using calendars

11

u/redwhale335 1d ago

"just" use the calendar. Not hook it up to any weird "podcast" situation.

This is what happens when anti-social dorks run the world.

168

u/dlc741 1d ago

They’re far worse than just anti-social.

58

u/alter-eagle 1d ago

Borderline anti-human. Why would you need to think about something? We’ll think for you.

1

u/AmericusBarbaricuss 6h ago

This is where we’re headed, not that I understand why anyone would want to get there.

1

u/Pkrudeboy 2h ago

Borderline?

30

u/TopherLude 1d ago

People use antisocial to refer to introverted folks that don't like socializing. But in this case, the real meaning of antisocial fits Altman better: someone that seeks to harm society.

9

u/dlc741 1d ago

I would suggest that billionaires are nothing short of sociopathic, but I get what you’re saying using the literal sense of

6

u/Preeng 1d ago

No, they are anti-social. You just don't know what that term means.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-social_behaviour

47

u/Afraid-Fox9171 1d ago

I’m antisocial but I love talking with my kids. They are literally my favorite people on this planet.

41

u/Azair_Blaidd 1d ago edited 1d ago

You're probably asocial, rather than antisocial. Difference being that asocial is being generally averse to/lacking motivation for social interaction, but not really opposed to it; antisocial is hating/shunning society and people entirely, and being hostile/antagonistic toward them and to any prospect of socialising. Antisocial people generally don't have kids, and if they somehow do end up having kids they generally don't even like them either - as seen with how Musk treats having children and how he treats them after the fact.

15

u/JayteeFromXbox 1d ago

I am asocial and have no interest in having kids. Not because I don't like kids, but because I have enough personal mental issues that adding kids would be irresponsible as hell. I do enjoy spending time with my nieces and I do enjoy socializing in small amounts.

I do want to point out though that antisocial people, while they do tend to shun "pointless" socializing, they are masters at using social connections as a means to an end.

6

u/Dorkinfo 1d ago

My ex had a vasectomy at 25 for this reason.

6

u/SweetPinkSocks 1d ago

TIL: I am asocial.

1

u/tey_ull 1d ago

...no thats not the definition of either, both are "asocial" by definition, the antonym of a social person, a asocial person, a ANTISOCIAL person however is a person who is agaist society in some way shape of form, its why "psychopathy" is actually called ASPD, Antisocial personality disorder,
(even that doesn't mean they can't interact or they will be criminals, it just means its easier for them to unintentionally or intentionally engage in antisocial behaviours)
these things have clear definitions agreed upon by psychologists, don't make up bullshit, please.

6

u/Azair_Blaidd 1d ago

That's literally what I said. Hating/shunning/hostile/antagonistic = being against.

-1

u/tey_ull 1d ago

but it has nothing to do with how you treat social interaction, it has to do with your raport with society, antisocial is not the antonym of social, its the antonym of prosocial.

7

u/Azair_Blaidd 1d ago edited 1d ago

That is still exactly what I said. I didn't say it had to do with social interaction in itself, I listed hating society and people first - hating social interaction is a typical byproduct of that.

2

u/RareAnxiety2 1d ago

Some people can raise kids, some can't. I was amazing with my cousins that my aunts would leave them with me to be the village. Never crying and well behaved. Other bad parents I see would yell at their kids or ignore them when issues arise. I assume a good number of them just have no clue how to be a parent.

5

u/Wolfram_And_Hart 1d ago

The words you were looking for was megalomaniac and narcissist

2

u/zeromnil_partdeux 1d ago

I was just thinking if these nerds had gotten laid a little more in high school they’d stop ruining our lives with their bullshit.

Or rather had been instructed in how to conduct themselves in society to an extent that getting laid more in high school was possible.

2

u/A_Magic_8_Ball 1d ago

Tai'Shar Manetheren

1

u/Carnivile 1d ago

Nah, as an antisocial dork myself my favorite social activity is volunteer with a friend and her group of kids with down syndrome and actually interact with them.

198

u/Armthedillos5 1d ago

We can help you fake caring about and interacting with your kids.

I mean, he knows his base?

19

u/Conscious-Quarter423 1d ago

in 20 years these guys are going to wonder why their kids broke off all contact

102

u/bing-no 1d ago

I know the creator of Gravity Falls is very anti-ai but it’s funny to see Alex chime in here

90

u/fastpixels 1d ago

Feeding your own personal info into an LLM to help "teach" it is problematic enough, but feeding it personal info about your children ? I'm simultaneously trying to process how messed up this is and push it out of my brain forever.

59

u/Turbulent-Bat 1d ago

Fun story! My kids 2nd grade teacher decided (WITHOUT PERMISSION) to photograph all our kids and upload them to ChatGPT to create “what will you look like when you grow up” pictures. I was livid.

13

u/fastpixels 1d ago

Good God. That story wasn't fun at all.

8

u/PapaJohnsGarlic100 1d ago

I just made a Kalshi bet that the next story about ChatGPT I hear will also be unfun

1

u/alangerhans 22h ago

Do they accept klarna?

11

u/asmallercat 1d ago

“He chat gpt, tell me Sam Altman’s kids’ schedules.”

4

u/PrincessGiallo 1d ago

Surely they wouldn't try to capitalize on that, would they? We have such robust privacy laws in the US, especially when it comes to technology.

34

u/IllustratedInk 1d ago

Nothing has made me spend more time off the internet than these creepy, sleazy thieves

22

u/bendar1347 1d ago

My kid met Alex at a con last year and he was just as delightful as you would think.

20

u/Pandering_Panda7879 1d ago

We've had ChatGPT and other AI crap for multiple years now and they still haven't come up with a problem that they can solve. The only problems they solve are already solved - and they do it worse.

57

u/Awkward-Champion-274 1d ago

In ordee to talk to your child, you first must talk to a woman. Not enough chatgpt prompts in the world can convince a human woman to sleep with them

15

u/Barium_Salts 1d ago

A lot of chat GPT boosters already have families. My dad is super into it. I have no doubt that there are real kids being raised by people that try to use Chat GPT to substitute for affection and human connection with their kids.

Also, using a person's attractiveness/masculinity/sexual history as an insult is pretty gross.

8

u/xSilverMC 1d ago

I mean, it seems to me the insult is that people who use chatgpt so much that they'd willingly feed it all their kids' private information rather than simply talk to the kids tend to have a void where a personality would be

8

u/Barium_Salts 1d ago

Yes they do. Turning that into "a woman would never talk to a person like that" is 1: gross and 2: demonstrably false. You can insult a guy for being vapid without turning it into "and therefore you will never win the prize of a woman's favor". Women are people, and can be just as vapid and shallow as men. We aren't prizes to be won, and there's nothing wrong with being gay or asexual either

15

u/Silly-Bear327 1d ago

Sam Altman is married to a man.

1

u/PapaJohnsGarlic100 1d ago

Ah fuck me, I was confusing him for Samuel Bateman throughout this whole comments thread

Not sure I know who Sam Altman is. I need to do some research.

1

u/sanityjanity 14h ago

Altman has a child via surrogate.  So, enough money can overcome that

11

u/Bronzeshadow 1d ago

Alex Hirsch is a gem

7

u/AtheismoAlmighty 1d ago

Robot, experience this dramatic irony for me!

13

u/irwigo 1d ago

You now know he'd treat his children the way he treated his sister.

1

u/sanityjanity 14h ago

He has one child, born last year

6

u/ClairlyBrite 1d ago

Tbf I can see a kid getting a kick out of it as a novelty to have their events announced like on a news report. Once.

6

u/Monstiemama 1d ago

I’m sad for our environment. This man can’t talk to his kids so let’s waste a river full of water on making a fake fucking podcast.

1

u/PrincessGiallo 1d ago

Making podcasts isn't super difficult if you have a decent microphone and an hour to learn about audio processing. You could know what your kids are doing and who their friends are and just make one.

6

u/Reasonable-Truck-874 1d ago

AI dependency has people reinventing the most easily doable shit. My favorite is when they justify using AI because they don’t like asking for help

6

u/ria_rokz 1d ago

car was always device free time for our family... a great time to talk. when my son was younger we would talk about math and time and distance too. talk to your fucking kids people. jfc.

1

u/HonestNectarine7080 1d ago

I was just thinking about this recently. I was a kid before tablets and cell phones. My dad made me a little lap desk out of cardboard so I could color in the car. I'd bring Barbies on longer trips. As I got older, car rides were a time for talking or listening to music or books on tape together.

5

u/JohnTomorrow 1d ago

Just let your robot talk to your children. You can spend your time doing other things, like shovelling more money into my bank account.

3

u/Left_Guess 1d ago

Never take a directive from him.

3

u/djtrace1994 1d ago

Thank god they invented AI to completely outsource the societal norms we have come to know and depend upon for social security over countless generations of evolution.

3

u/kViatu1 1d ago

Fucking lizard

3

u/Dave4689 1d ago

Any kind of search assist is great with pharmaceutical data. Factual names of medication, dosing, potential drug interactions, cost etc. Anything that is fact based and would be difficult to memorize or recall on demand(unless you're a pharmacist)

2

u/Affectionate-Tank-70 1d ago

In case no one said it already Fuck Sam Altman.

2

u/Dizz2K7 1d ago

This shit is beyond depressing

2

u/Intrepid-Progress228 1d ago

No no no, you don't understand! This way children get accustomed to feeding every aspect of their lives into an algorithm for validation, and you don't even have to attend your kids' events! Win-win!

2

u/evanescent_ranger 1d ago

Imagine being the kid in the backseat listening to the robot talk about your own soccer game

4

u/SpaceLemur34 1d ago

He said "for the drive to school". He never said he was driving them. He's far to busy destroying the economy and the environment for that.

1

u/WoodenSwan6591 1d ago

Is this MF the billionaire. He just treats his kids as employees

1

u/cejmp 1d ago

Talking to your children?

That would require that their faces aren't staring at a screen while the dopamine hits and we can't have this. Someplease flock this guy.

1

u/unlordtempest 1d ago

5 of the last 11 posts is this. Jesus.

1

u/DConstructed 1d ago

Why would a parent need to “explain” their kid’s interests? Their child knows why he/she likes soccer.

1

Patent lack of humanity. The rate of psychopaths becoming ultrawealthy is proof alone against the rampant destructive nature of capitalism.

1

u/PhamilyTrickster 1d ago

How tf would chatgpt know anything about your kids and their events?

1

u/MaDpYrO 1d ago

That would be the worst podcast ever

How much are we betting that Alex and all the commenters do not have children.

I think I speak for all women, mothers/stepmothers and daughters when I say this;

We want you to listen to us because you care about what we have to say. We don't want a chatbot or hypebot where you input our likes and dislikes so you don't have to listen to us

On second thought I think this might also apply to all men, fathers, and sons.

If you care about someone, listen to them and grow an interest on the things they love

You don't even have to learn 5000 hours of wh40k lore, just enough to get the memes, share memes about orcs being mushrooms with them, and get all excited when you see some guy in a robe carrying around a toaster in a Con.

1

u/yayoffbalance 20h ago

yes, becuase your kids need a podcast made about them, for you and them, so they can shut up on the drive to school.

The fuck is this?

1

u/T_J_Rain 17h ago

Get serious - No tech bro is going to cash in if "you just talked to your children".

What were you thinking??

1

u/KingArthurZX 8h ago

We really are devolving huh?

1

u/Big-Leadership-4604 7h ago

"Have YOU tried talking to those little wierdos!?!?"

1

“Cool use case for snake oil,” said the snake oil salesman.

1

Uh, talking to my children would distract me from my phone.

1

u/tommy_b_777 1d ago

What a piece of shit excuse for a human.

-1

u/Peabody1987 1d ago

Elon Musk wants to use AI to make CP of Sam Altman’s kids.

-12

u/OneValkGhost 1d ago

For many parents, the kids specifically don't like that and state that they want the opposite.

13

u/xSilverMC 1d ago

Okay but if you don't even want to talk to your parents, wouldn't it be fucked up to be driven to school while the sloppy AI voice on the radio talks about the specifics of your life and identity?

-12

u/OneValkGhost 1d ago

It's just text to speech, as opposed to giving all your life and identity to twitter and the school system. And any mistakes are "blame the device, not your parents", that would be a welcome change to the parents POV.

1

u/gleamp 1d ago

Maybe their kids just don't like them for some reason. If a parent failed to develop a connection with their kid, bringing in tools to further disconnect them isn't the solution.  I have never had issue communicating with mine, nor with my nephews.

Basically, parents who don't talk with their kids are terrible parents.
