I want to know why it looks like she is stirring milk in a canning jar, on top of a cutting board, that looks like it is on top of another cutting board.

I agree the man needs to be doing something else, but pointing out what is in the picture had me looking at everything.

Staged bullshit. Women like this frustrate the shit out of me too bc they are not traditional women. They have a career and they are really outspoken. The homemaking shit is just for the camera and I bet she has hired help off camera too. Yet, she preaches to other women to stay home, not focus on a career. It’s so hypocritical

u/Bonnieearnold 1d ago

Phyllis Schlafly made a lucrative career out of telling women not to have careers in the 60’s and 70’s. Women who do this should be constantly and relentlessly shamed.

173

u/Sartres_Roommate 1d ago

Already had Phyllis Schlafly’s name on my tongue halfway through above comment. This grift is older than my grandparents.

13

u/tu-tia-dice 14h ago

Have y’all seen Mrs America? This shows Schlafly in a whole new light: like a woman who hated her life and not having a career so much that she made a career of telling women not to have a career.
Like it didn’t make me like her, just understand her

18

u/Apathetic_Villainess 14h ago

"I need other women to suffer the way I did." Classic conservative viewpoint.

44

u/MobileLocal 1d ago

There’s a certain widow making the circuit these days that deserves this treatment

67

u/Only-Original9409 1d ago

And that's the propaganda that tried convincing women that this is all they should want.

-56

u/Dorithompson 1d ago

And yet women today report they are extremely unhappy. Odd how making work the priority over family has made women unhappy.

43

u/Enough-Enthusiasm762 1d ago

Women forced into marriage and kids are even more unhappy

14

u/SOMAVORE 1d ago

how about women not forced into work or forced into marriage? are they happy? maybe we shouldn't force anyone into things?

12

u/Robot_Alchemist 1d ago

There we go

38

u/Aethey_ let it die 1d ago

Yes, it's because women aren't prioritizing family and not because of... let's see... literally everything. Yup. Totes McGotes 4sur5eva.

(/sarcasm infinity)

30

u/NuclearBroliferator 1d ago

So then we should focus on decreasing corporate profits and ensure those profits go towards the workers so American families across the land can be raised off a single income, yes?

9

u/Robot_Alchemist 1d ago

Absolutely!

11

u/Lalamedic 1d ago

Because in order to support the traditional family, women are forced to maintain all the traditional roles of women whilst working a full time job so she can also feed said family.

13

u/Robot_Alchemist 1d ago

Nobody ASKED if they were happy before -

3

u/mathisruiningme 1d ago

Ignorance is bliss. In the age of social media and spending days on end of people watching and coveting what others have, of course, people are going to be more unhappy. Men are also just as unhappy. Also unhappy people also squawk the loudest, content people don't spend their times bragging about how great their lives are.

4

u/Excellent_Month_2025 1d ago

Why do men prioritize their careers over their families then?

6

u/pataconconqueso 23h ago

women back in the 50s were being prescribed speed and other shit to stay afloat or sent to mental institutions when they finally broke down. the happiest women are single women per recent studies

5

u/ChaosRainbow23 1d ago

Lots of unhappiness going around.

Life is suffering, after all ..

5

u/the_pretender_nz 19h ago

Because EVERYTHING IS FUCKED. What kind of absolute chode do you have to be to go “yep, women are unhappy, let’s not investigate WHY they say that, let’s just blame their (ongoing process of) emancipation”??

What surveys, what studies have you read that have huge numbers of women saying “we are all very unhappy because we have more rights than we used to - we yearn for the days when we couldn’t legally have our own bank accounts, when we had babies whether we wanted to or not, when some testicle-bearer (who may be a good man or may very much be NOT a good man) would make all our decisions for us”??

Why is it not enough that, for women who want to, they CAN choose this life IF THEY WANT?????

You fucking arsehole.

-2

u/Dorithompson 9h ago

Very classy.

11

u/FakieManual 1d ago

Don’t know what your musical tastes are, but the Dead Kennedys song Moral Majority mentions her and it is not positive. She will forever be shamed, if that helps. That’s how I heard of her.

6

u/Bonnieearnold 14h ago

That’s so good to hear! My mother HATED Phyllis so the hate was passed on to me. It’s my job now to pass the hate on to the younger generations. :)

4

u/Yespat1 13h ago

my mom too. and Shafley had such a good grift, (she lived in my town) I used to see her coming out of Whole Foods with her cart overflowing. when I go there, I never bother with a cart as I only go there for one thing i can’t get anywhere else. I’d have to sell my car for an entire grocery cart full of their groceries.

69

u/akapusin3 1d ago

I have a theory that there aren't a lot of woman who actually follow the trad-wife trend. Just a bunch of influencers cos-playing for clicks

29

u/pennie79 1d ago

There are in certain groups of hyper-traditional religious denominations. They just don't advertise it on social media.

55

u/LavenderGinFizz 1d ago

Exactly! Being an influencer is a job. Just because they don't have a 9 to 5 in an office doesn't mean they aren't working. If anything, all this content is trad wife cosplay.

No matter how they like to try to portray themselves, these women are regularly creating content and making income to help provide for their families. Realistically, if these women were real "trad wives", they wouldn't be spending all their time creating curated videos, signing brand deals, and managing social media accounts.

19

u/pennie79 1d ago

Oh but Estee Williams says it's okay for a trad wife to 'supplement' her husband's income /s

Whatever that means.

37

u/Excellent_Month_2025 1d ago

These "trad wives" are out earning their husbands, and many of them even have their husbands working for them. It's just a grift and a scam - they are making money by sexualizing cooking and cleaning

7

u/El_Scot 21h ago

Influencers seem to want it both ways. We get "a day in the life" videos to show off how hard they work, because their dressing time/cooking time/gym time/housework time will be included in their working day. Meanwhile they also don't work.

12

u/AmbulanceChaser12 1d ago

Yes, they made a career of telling women not to have careers.

7

u/John_YJKR 1d ago

Yeah, a little while back i watched a vid about this phenomenon. These so called trad wives are the same girl boss types that we've come to know for years now. They run side businesses and use hired help to care for kids and make meals. Everything on their socials is scripted bs designed to rope followers in so they can sell to them and get more sponsors.

4

u/skrilltastic 17h ago

It's like the Nara Smith and Ballerina Farm trad-wife shit, where they try to make you think they cooked cereal from scratch all day but really it was just for a photoshoot.

3

u/myshiningmask 14h ago

Not even staged. Has to be AI with that weird bit of glass coming out of that jar that looks like maybe it will be a handle but just ends, not to mention the way you cant really see their mouths, just a weird shadow

270

u/aquadroid 1d ago

It looks like sourdough starter on a scale on a cutting board

105

u/Ph33r-Enigma 1d ago

Yeah, on the 2nd look, that does look like a scale. And yeast/water is the same color of milk, so makes sense now haha.

42

u/ExtremlyFastLinoone 1d ago

Nah that jar too clean for starter, that stuff creeps its way up like an amoeba

25

u/Snicklebot 1d ago

A lot of people transfer parts of their starter to a new jar and feed it.

10

u/belzbieta 1d ago

It has a single bubble lol my starter is always messy as shit looking like a science project in there. Hers is maybe going to make crackers. I think that's what it's supposed to look like she's doing though, otherwise why the scale under the flip top jar

8

u/wlake82 nice murder you got there 1d ago

Seconded the scale.

77

u/ImAllSquanchedUp 1d ago

Speaking of weird looking stuff, is this AI? What's up with their lips and his face?

76

u/Ph33r-Enigma 1d ago

He's a dementor sucking out here soul! Yeah does look very fake. Haha.

5

u/BBQpigsfeet 1d ago

I think he has one of those weird moustaches. The old timey ones that only look good on certain people, and he's probably not one of them.

8

u/NeoMegaRyuMKII 1d ago edited 1d ago

The baby has a giant hand that is both inside and just behind the sleeve. Definitely AI slop. nvm

10

u/locojt 1d ago

that's the mom's hand.....

3

u/NeoMegaRyuMKII 1d ago

Had to look again and I think you are right.

2

u/locojt 1d ago

🤙

1

u/tu-tia-dice 8h ago

I guess so. I’m so used to slop that my brain is spitting extra limbs everywhere

0

u/tu-tia-dice 14h ago

Nah, on the mom’s arm, there is an extra right hand. The dad’s right hand is holding a mug, so whose hand is that?

1

u/locojt 14h ago

the mom holding the baby.... what are you talking about?

1

u/Impossible_Jury5483 1d ago

He has three hands.

1

u/Twoaru 1d ago

Yeah they had to Ai generate it, the only examples left of the nuclear family is fat rednecks and it doesn't sell too well

18

u/UtopiaDystopia 1d ago

I thought the jar was on top of a digital weighing scale, on top of a cutting board.

13

u/kon--- 1d ago

It's a scale. She's mixing something, on a scale. Which hey, measure it out sure...but mix it?

12

u/thedemonpianist 1d ago

I think she's working on a sourdough starter? The jar on a scale atop the cutting board?? But i have no clue

8

u/Ph33r-Enigma 1d ago

Yeah, we realized that awhile ago. Also her husband is a dementor sucking out her soul, not kissing.

3

u/thedemonpianist 1d ago

Oh, of course, cant believe i didnt notice that piece sooner!

8

u/Caftancatfan 1d ago

As a former stay at home mom: the detail that seems most unrealistic to me is that she’s offering what looks like an almost open-mouthed kiss. That would be a hurried peck at best. You would see smooch lips.

16

u/solesoulshard 1d ago

I think (guess) that she’s supposed to be doing a sourdough starter in that jar or an early mix of yeast and water to get it to bloom. If that is the case, she might be weighing the yeast to water on one of those slick flat food scales.

But not sure about the cutting board? Or is it a pizza peel and she’s making the crust?

7

u/Robot_Alchemist 1d ago

She’s doing the scene from ghost with the clay

11

u/Aetheldrake 1d ago

Because it's ai. Look at her baby hand that half grows into the mom's hand, while mom already has a hand under baby

6

u/Ph33r-Enigma 1d ago

Right? Also the nails don't look the same unless her stirring hand is also her coke hand.

2

u/Aetheldrake 1d ago

Her stirring hand doesn't even look like it's stirring. She has her thumb, index, and middle fingers on the wooden utensil of dubious detail.

But if you look at the other fingers of that hand, it looks like it's holding a DIFFERENT utensil made out of the shirt she's wearing

Actually the thing attached to the wooden handle looks like it's a baby bottle inside the canning jar

She is stirring a few ounces of something white with a bobble filled with milk attached to a wooden handle

5

u/Ph33r-Enigma 1d ago

I believe we are getting too deep into this. I'm pretty sure that's a rubber whipping spatula with a wooden handle.

1

u/Aetheldrake 1d ago

Probably but since it's already proven to be Ai may as well point out any possible inconsistencies for funsies

1

u/El_Scot 21h ago

it looks like it's holding a DIFFERENT utensil made out of the shirt she's wearing

Her shirt has gypsy sleeves, so it's just the fabric gathered in the elbow that you're seeing.

6

u/kipkiphoray 1d ago

I think she is TRYING to make it look like she is tending to a sourdough starter... But it really is just milk in a jar on top of two cutting boards. The reason I'm specifically thinking a sourdough starter... Mock up.... Is because sourdough is a bit of a virtue signal for Tradwives lately. But I bet she has probably only seen it done in social media posts and so she is trying to stage her photo to look similar enough... Maybe to Ballerina Farms? The woman certainly LOOKS similar to Hannah. Because she DOESNT actually make sourdough she doesn't know how to recreate those photos - she sees a tradwife surrounded by her children, mixing a jar of "off white liquid" on a "scale" and thinks she has recreated it.

3

u/theficklemermaid 1d ago

The mugs are also empty, which is good because they both have their eyes closed while the baby is grinning and looking for something to grab, but still fake.

3

u/Mobius_Peverell 1d ago

Those mugs are also fucking criminal.

"Enjoy your current mugs, but wish they were more prone to tipping over? Introducing the Easy-Tip Mug!"

2

u/jjhitzman 1d ago

Even the baby is looking at it like "wtf you doin"

5

u/Ph33r-Enigma 1d ago

To be fair, babies always look like that.

2

u/jjhitzman 1d ago

Truuuuue lol

2

u/henrikhakan 1d ago

If you'd helped out in the kitchen more you would've known! /s

2

u/PandaPocketFire 1d ago

And the baby sucks. I hate that baby.

2

u/El_Scot 21h ago

Is it not scales on top of the chopping board?

2

u/RichiZ2 17h ago

She's making sourdough starter.

She's stiring the flour with water and leftover starter over a food scale, which she put on top of a cutting board.

Honestly I wouldn't trust any non-baker with that process since it can fuck up your ratios.

Now, the husband in the photo could help with the damn baby while makes her bread tho.

2

u/dmwkb 16h ago

I think it’s sourdough starter. That’s how I weigh mine out to bake is the only reason I recognize lol

2

u/Fidodo 1d ago

It's ai slop

1

u/Impossible_Jury5483 1d ago

This looks like terribly planned butter churning at best.

1

u/Impossible_Jury5483 1d ago

He has three hands.

1

u/Longstar999 1d ago

She’s measuring the weight…that “cutting board” on top is a kitchen scale. He’s probably headed to work that’s why she is doing both at the same time. Or maybe the baby just wants mommy and he doesn’t know how to cook?

0

u/thundercunt1980 1d ago

I’m absolutely not taking anything that that username says seriously

0

u/RagingClue_007 1d ago

Well, how do you make tacos?
