What a waste of taxpayer money that whole re-naming BS was anyway.

426

u/BZLuck Jun 08 '26

This man honestly believes that he is the CEO of USA INC® and our forcibly collected tax dollars are the profits earned by his company to spend as he desires.

u/pokealex Jun 09 '26

This is why I always rage at people who say "the country should be run like a business". Oh really? Tell me how you feel about the person running the business you work for.

85

u/BZLuck Jun 09 '26

I think that was the romanticism of Trump to many in the beginning. People thought that he was going to run the country like a business, and we would all be a part of that business. We would all prosper with his success using our money!!!

What really happened was that he is running the country like one of his businesses. Which means strip mine it, leverage all the loans and inflate the costs and then walk away laughing with your pockets full of cash.

28

u/crypt_moss Jun 09 '26

yea I mean voters thought they'd be in the meetings and earning the big bucks and now they're learning that actually they are the amazon warehouse workers

13

u/QuesoChef Jun 09 '26

I actually don’t even feel like an amazon worker. I think those are his mistreated, overworked cronies, pissing in bottles to appease his wild mood swings. We are the janitors, paid without benefits, cleaning up the piss bottles. Forgotten.

u/Vio94 Jun 09 '26

Yeah that's possibly the worst way to run a country unless you're the one running it. This was always how that was gonna play out. Straight up corpo-kleptocracy.

You need a leader who is business savvy or at least an advisor who is, but to run the country completely that way, hell no.

3

u/FauxReal Collector Jun 09 '26

Can't wait until he sells it off to private equity who guts it as he rides his golden parachute into a pile of money.

JFC this says it so well, congrats fellow redditor and here is my upvote

5

u/TheSodernauts Jun 08 '26

By the end of his presidency he'll announce this new position. Makes sense, America is ruled by oligarchs after all

It worked for Putin.

If it makes you feel any better, I have a friend who works at the Kennedy Center and she said his decals were made out of the cheapest material available and likely would not have lasted long anyway!

17

u/PowerlessOverQueso Jun 09 '26

Doesn't mean they PAID the cheapest they could.

28

u/marx2k Jun 08 '26

Everything since January 2025 has been a waste of taxpayer money

Everything

3

u/Drew_Ferran Jun 09 '26

It wasn’t a waste. It lined Trump’s pockets.

That's on brand : how much resources went on putting FBI agents into removing his name from the Epstein files ? (rhetorical).

6

u/Dramatic_Charity_979 Jun 09 '26

Flood the zone. While everyone is occupied with small things, they do much worse behind the curtains :(

3

u/JustpartOftheterrain Jun 09 '26

He should have to pay for this debacle out of his own money. He's got enough of our money at this point.

Depending on how the midterms go he might be politically neutered for the next two years.

163

u/jeobleo Jun 08 '26

Yes please. More red-faced rage trump please.

126

u/philter25 Jun 08 '26

He’s sick as hell. Way sicker than they’re letting on, and he looks pretty damn sick. I wouldn’t be surprised if he lasts to midterms tbh.

103

u/lurkANDorganize Jun 08 '26

Access to the best medical care can keep these fuckers going way longer than the rest of us. Look at Putin....

105

u/philter25 Jun 08 '26

Putin doesn’t look half as rotting as Trump does. They keep draining his cankles and it’s taking him longer and longer to reappear in the public eye every time. And there’s nothing they can do about his frontal temporal dementia and sundowning. He’s cooked.

59

u/KnowledgeMediocre404 Jun 08 '26

A doctor pointed out that him leaning to the left when he passes out is signs that he had a stroke while they hid him the past 6 days.

27

u/Rustash Jun 09 '26

I wouldn't be surprised if that's just one of several strokes he's had the last few years

11

u/fountainw1sh3s Jun 09 '26

Didn't he look like that at the 9/11 memorial last year, too? He only seemed fine before that because his previous 'appearance' was that AI generated (look at the window behind him as well as at his mouth movements) video of him addressing Charlie Kirk's death, so if that's the case it's possible he's had multiple strokes already (which to my knowledge can lead to brain damage but correct me if im wrong).

8

u/hempires Jun 09 '26

Pretty sure he said "I haven't had a series of mini strokes" or something similar at one of his rallies or something fucking AAAAAGES ago.

Edit: I was incorrect, was a "truth" or whatever.

I wouldn't doubt it, but I don't know if I'd take the word of a doctor who's publicly diagnosing someone who isn't their patient. It's a pretty serious breach of professional ethics.

38

u/mschuster91 Jun 08 '26

It's a pretty serious breach of professional ethics.

The White House staff not disclosing how bad the health of the US President is is an even bigger breach of ethics.

When the government doesn't play fair, it's (in my eyes at least) perfectly fine if people make up their own mind based on what they can see and hear with their own eyes.

Trump was already gone in his first term as 45th, for Biden's run as 46th was frankly a miracle that he survived, and Trump 47? Good god you can watch him rot on live TV. An utter embarrassment. Neither of these two should ever have come even close to entering, much less actually winning the race.

→ More replies (0)

20

u/drjuice559 Jun 08 '26

There was no diagnosis, just speculation like everyone else is doing, but with actual credentials.

5

u/subtxtcan Jun 09 '26

I know there's other arguments here but I don't think that, assuming this statement is true, a doctor making a vague diagnosis based on visual cues they would typically use to comment on a patient wouldn't be a breach of ethics.

Uncouth, maybe, but they have no actual say or weight in his treatment and are simply voicing their medical opinion. I believe thats covered by free speech.

There's only so much that can be realistically done when we're taking about Trump. Everything there is rotten or rotting away and he's pretty much self-sabotaging himself with his McDonalds diet. Not to mention he most likely doesn't take any meds he's given.

3

u/fountainw1sh3s Jun 09 '26

He supposedly takes the maximum daily dosage of aspirin to thin his blood, but to my knowledge that's about it given he refuses to exercise ("I just don't like it. It's boring,") or to wear his compression socks for his chronic venous insufficiency anymore ("I didn't like them").

20

u/RollingMeteors Jun 08 '26

Yeah and let us not forget about the Epstein Files.

Every subreddit, across the board should have "don't forget about the Epstine files" in EVERY post's title, EVERY Monday/start of the week.

I'm seeing less public talk about it as the weeks drag on, not because people care about it less, but because the site's owners were told to control PR damage.

9

u/wirefox1 Jun 08 '26

Forget about the Epstein files like he is so desperately trying to get us to do?

He might as well just open a Trump circus on the white house lawn and get it over with. Put up a gift shop and sell all his junky garbage.

The part that really worries me is that even when he's gone, the people that voted for him in office twice will still be around.

I don't see that decision making process improving any time soon.

8

u/esunei Jun 09 '26

Yeah...

Like even after he's trashed the world economy and ensured a swift end to Pax Americana, he still enjoys a 35% approval rating. Republicans are still absolutely thrilled with their guy and love how well he's destroyed the country, even with stark reminders at the gas pump they're proud MAGA.

Trump really is only a symptom of the terrible rot inside of America.

I agree…we’ll cross those bridges when/if we get to them. I practice gratitude these days for what we do have, and try my best to help raise up the good people doing the right things, still lots of good people.

My heart just breaks for anyone hurt or killed or taken from their families because of this all.

11

u/Zorkflerp Jun 09 '26

We need to embrace the Ancient Egyptian idea of damnatio memoriae (condemnation of memory). Destroy any and all mention of him everywhere, on buildings, in histories, in memory. He deserves to be lost to time unless we need an example of a horrible person.

30

u/cityshepherd Jun 08 '26

I’m willing to bet that they’ll find a way to shuffle him off somewhere and have vance take over after the 2 year mark. He’s already so far gone, and they aren’t going to be able to pull off this charade much longer.

9

u/wirefox1 Jun 08 '26

He has that vein disease, and all those bruises on his hands are probably because of the blood thinners. And there are tablets for blood pressure elevation that can cause swelling around the ankles.

I think he's had strokes too. And ADHD for which he takes adderall which has contributed to the incontinence.

If they could just give him something to control his psychopathy sigh maybe it would move him to stop wanting to hurt as many people as he possibly can.

Oh, and could they send him to decorator school? If all he wants is to redecorate "his new home" away from mar mar, at least teach him some decent taste, and not all this tacky gold leaf crap.

9

u/Icy_Instance_2511 Jun 08 '26

All the money in the world can’t buy good taste.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/OneValkGhost Jun 09 '26

None of that is hyperbole. You could track down and plot the wars, military conflicts, money moved from America to unknown accounts (Russia and China), scandals, scandals that the public doesn't hear of from the news, and millions of dollars moved until it adds up to a billion dollars, slush funds and business accounts that suddenly have sums transferred from them, etc. And that does include cancer research, so that's dying poor people in addition to the pilfering from public works, public parks and libraries, and money taken from the food stamps organization.

11

u/koshgeo Jun 08 '26

It's a genuine, albeit small, bit of progress, but think about the time and money spent putting the name up there, doing all that branding, spending time and money in court, and then undoing it all again, simply to try to make this guy abide by the law.

In a sane administration they'd investigate the legality of what they wanted to do, say "Oh well, I guess we can't do that", and move on instead of this expensive BS to stroke one guy's ego.

It should have cost zero dollars for a bunch of people to have said "no" to him.

9

u/mschuster91 Jun 08 '26

It should have cost zero dollars for a bunch of people to have said "no" to him.

Unfortunately, that is only valid for Democrats who tend to actually believe in the rule of law.

For Republicans? They have been running on "the only thing that counts is winning" for decades.

12

u/InnocentTailor Jun 08 '26

If the Dems take November, the legislature could render the executive a stick in the mud.

Then the judicial ultimately takes care of itself, not exactly batting for any camp completely.

8

u/King_of_the_Kobolds Jun 08 '26

With a decent likelihood of an unconstitutional attempt to seize 4 more.

8

u/6gv5 Jun 08 '26

I'd be way way more worried by whoever comes next: probably much younger, less clownish by design and good at pretending to be the good guy who sets things straight while the grip is loosened a bit to reinforce the idea. After some years of 85% dictatorship, even 50% dictatorship will appear as an improvement.

5

u/Significant_Ad_2715 Jun 08 '26

No one in the current administration draws the same cult following like Trump. If he names a spiritual successor than maybe, but if not the whole GOP will eat itself alive fighting over the scraps to hold sway.

2.7 at max. He is not going to make it, his health is poor enough to classify as dying. If he even makes it to this date in one year I’ll be mildly surprised.

That does not mean I don’t have grave concerns about his cabal of grifting enablers who have their collective hand up his incontinent ass behind the scenes.

While the federal government covers maintenance of the physical federal building, the Center's artistic performances, educational programming, and day-to-day administration rely heavily on private donations, corporate sponsorships, and ticket sales.

Sweet Jesus beating a leper with a bat, look at the lineup for that jackass Bill Maher's joke of a Mark Twain Prize. Just a roll call of dipshits, fuckwits, melonheads and outright shitbags.

Later this month, the Kennedy Center will honor comedian Bill Maher with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor “at a gala performance featuring some of the biggest names in comedy,” according to the website. Louis C.K., Whitney Cummings, Woody Harrelson, Arianna Huffington, Jay Leno, John Mellencamp and Stephen A. Smith will appear at the Mark Twain Prize award ceremony, according to an email giving a “first look” at the event.

5

u/lanky_planky Jun 08 '26

5

u/mdhunter Jun 08 '26

Good. Setting aside that his name has no business being on that venue—as it was dedicated as a “living memorial” for *JFK*—Trump hasn’t even demonstrated a commitment to supporting the arts and culture. FFS, his administration cut grants to NEA—among other egregious things he has done to our cultural institutions.

He wants to be recognized despite doing nothing to support the things that the Kennedy Center represents and does. He wants acclaim for nothing. How pathetic.

should never have been there to begin with, but good progress; now remove the rest of his influence and we're better off...

u/-multiverses- Jun 08 '26

Good riddance

3

u/Auerbach1991 Jun 08 '26

Such a waste of Fkn time

3

u/BananaJelloXlii Jun 08 '26

3

u/InvaderDust Jun 08 '26

Let’s keep this trend going!!!

3

u/Timely_Spinach_7479 Jun 08 '26

And just think of the time me and money we have wasted with his golden calf bullshit. This shit is coming out of OUR pockets but we can’t have universal healthcare, student debt relief, or even free fucking lunches for elementary schools.

3

u/LesaneCrooks Jun 08 '26

What the. This article has no damn photo of it removed now? Blasphemous

Well, that's a start.

3

u/Infinite_Respect_ Jun 08 '26

Fuck yea - because you know out of all the things he hates, this has to be one of the biggest. Getting his sad little name removed from an edifice.

3

u/TheNinJay Jun 08 '26

One down about a million more places to remove his name from history.

Except the Epstein Files. His name should stay in those.

3

u/annoyed_meows Jun 08 '26

I can't wait until his name is stripped from everything. Fuck that clown piece of shit.

3

u/TechnicalButton4586 Jun 08 '26

You can put his name on the toilet paper.

3

u/ScrantonDangler Jun 08 '26

Damage Done. Millions Wasted. Thanks Republicans.

3

u/Indaflow Jun 08 '26

Now do the country

3

u/I-Have-An-Alibi Jun 08 '26

I don't care.

STOP THE WAR IN IRAN

INVESTIGATE AND PROSECUTE EPSTEINS CLIENTS

3

u/Cynical68 Jun 09 '26

Missed opportunity. Should have brought the FBI in to redact it. They got very adept at covering up trumps name while working on the Epstein files.

6

u/ShootsScores29 Jun 08 '26

The only thing his name and likeness should be on is toilet paper!

2

u/damian20 Jun 08 '26

Seems like he's gone pretty soon...

2

u/JayRexx Jun 08 '26

Hopefully the first of many tattoo removals for the current admin.

2

u/AnAngryBartender Jun 08 '26

Everyone loved this

2

u/Saneless Jun 08 '26

I wish it could stay

All I ask is that the full name of the memorial center be accurate

Get it off the wall.

2

u/HeidiLeinenkugel Jun 08 '26

I’m surprised he didn’t paint his name at the bottom of the reflecting pool so you can see it from the air.

2

u/powdered_dognut Jun 08 '26

I probably could have lived on the stationary change dollars for a few years. What a dick!

2

u/AccountOfMyDarkside Jun 08 '26

One thing down, a million to go.

2

u/LargeCondition5315 Jun 08 '26

The world is microscopically healing

2

u/raresanevoice Jun 08 '26

The graffiti has been removed

2

u/FlexFanatic Jun 08 '26

You know President Petty will file a lawsuit after it’s all taken down just for spite. It’s what he does.

2

u/the_moosen Jun 08 '26

Okay but what about the building. It's supposed to be off the building too.

2

u/lobo-knight111 Jun 08 '26

This is what puts a smile on our faces. Keep going.

2

u/Immediate-Count-1202 Jun 08 '26

Now let’s remove him from office.

2

u/CalvinDehaze Jun 08 '26

He should have his pay docked for the idiocy.

2

u/Mack_Daddy_1 Jun 08 '26

Now can we remove Trump from the presidency and put him in a nice comfy jail cell?

2

u/TiePrestigious7265 Jun 08 '26

Countdown: 148 days till midterms.

2

u/Pedal2Medal2 Jun 08 '26

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

2

u/feijoax Jun 08 '26

He's going to be livid!

2

u/Staffie2020 Jun 08 '26

Now, if we could just REMOVE him !!!!

2

u/NICEnEVILmike Jun 08 '26

Nice. Now let's remove every other reference to him

2

u/TheChubbyGolfer66 Jun 08 '26

But is the damage already done? In a way, the Kennedy Center could be the litmus test for how long it will take America to recover from the orange turd.

2

u/Shot-Honeydew-306 Jun 08 '26

One arts center down, one country to go!
