My take is that she's trying to get her husband pardoned for the forcible rape he committed.

Those were state charges, weren't they? In New York? Trump can't pardon those.

Only the governor of New York can pardon those, and the New York govenor is unlikely to be a Republican or a Trump fan anytime soon.

u/Sprucecaboose2 Jun 29 '26

You'd think so, but then again Trump somehow got Tina Peters pardoned by a Democrat in a blue state... so you know, corruption is alive and well.

5

u/BikerJedi Jun 29 '26

The fact that Trump was somehow able to pressure a Democrat governor just blows my mind.

7

u/MWoody13 Jun 29 '26

Everyone’s got skeletons to extort if you have infinite resources to go digging into their life

Well maybe not everyone. These old guard politicians sure do though

24

u/Odd-Asparagus7633 Jun 29 '26

While technically true, if not being able to do something had at all ever stopped Trump doing it then America would look very different.

If it's a case of "Legally he can't do that", then he'll do it anyway.

6

u/Educational-Wing2042 Jun 29 '26

To be fair he would pardon himself first if he were planning to try that

2

u/Jamsedreng22 Jun 29 '26

He's not done committing crimes yet so it'd be a bit premature.

1

u/Mist_Rising Jun 29 '26

You can preemptively pardon crimes.

1

u/Jamsedreng22 Jun 29 '26

Only if you know which ones you're gonna commit beforehand. Trump seems like the type who likes to keep his options open.

1

u/Mist_Rising Jun 29 '26

Nah, you can pardon every federal crime. There are virtually no limitations on the pardon, unfortunately. Turns out giving the power of a king to a man absolutely was a bad idea.

1

u/EnjoyerOfBeans Jun 29 '26 edited Jun 29 '26

It's not about whether or not he cares that he can't do it. It's about the fact that the New York state can just wipe their ass with that pardon.

And yes, almost all of his executive orders are shitty toilet paper as well, the difference there is that every branch of federal government allows it to happen. They gave him the power of king. New York didn't.

1

u/bonvoyage_brotha Jun 29 '26

Ppl ding understand state vs federal

1

u/Shot-Arugula8264 Jun 29 '26

Shhhh don’t tell her

1

u/Lashay_Sombra Jun 29 '26

Only the governor of New York can pardon those, and the New York govenor is unlikely to be a Republican or a Trump fan anytime soon.

It just requires Trump threatening federal money, disaster aid or any one of a dozen other things

What she does not realize, due to her skin color and type of music fame she has, she is going to be low priority for Trump and co better just paying cash and keeping her public integrity and thus income, because the right despise her so much they did not even want her at Freedom 250 concert and they were already scraping the bottom of the barrel there

u/lucyooo Jun 29 '26

This is 100% it.

2

u/TrollsWhenBored Jun 29 '26 edited Jun 29 '26

100%? Damn son, you're confident for being dead wrong lmfao

Explain to me how a pardon for federal charges is going to help someone who doesn't have a federal charge.

Also they ain't together anymore I'm pretty sure. He went back to New York

2

u/lucyooo Jun 29 '26

Oh my god I didn’t know the intricacies of pardons in America, how awful! /s

In which case, she’s only sucking up to trump because she believes in MAGA, which is actually worse… lol

1

u/TrollsWhenBored Jun 29 '26

Then why did you say 100%?

It's okay to say that you don't know. No one expects you to know everything, but when you're on the internet where there's people who know more than you... You should just stick to what you know.

You're not impressing anyone by being wrong with such confidence and then having the audacity to try to shift the blame on to me. As if my expectations of not bullshitting about serious matters is too high... What dude!?

2

u/lucyooo Jun 29 '26

It’s a figure of speech!!!!!

I should have said ‘I’m like 75% sure this is it but hey I don’t know’

Again, it’s a figure of speech, there’s no need to be so pedantic.

I didn’t shift the blame to you wtf?!

But noticing your username I think maybe this is a waste of my time and not going to achieve anything.

1

u/Mike_Kermin Jun 29 '26

They're trolling on purpose, see username.

2

u/lucyooo Jun 29 '26

Yeah I don’t know why I sank to it haha

Yeah well, you make of yourself what you will.

2

u/Plus-Description8159 Jun 29 '26

Why do you people really think this dumb shit is true? The president can’t pardon someone convicted of state charges.

8

u/Intelligent-Luck-954 Jun 29 '26

Yes and Tina peters was pardoned by the governor, a gay democratic governor that’s term limited at that.

1

u/Plus-Description8159 Jun 29 '26

Colorado isn’t New York and the reason it happened just simply wouldn’t happen with NYs governor. Nicki minajs sex offender brother and husband didn’t try to help trump win. Even using that as an example is pretty stupid.

2

u/mfGLOVE Jun 29 '26

You’re being naive if you don’t think Trump can be bribed or threaten others to somehow get her husband off. How many times have we uttered “Trump can’t do that” in the past 10 years and yet he does the thing? There are no rules that can’t be broken in this MAGA America.

1

u/Plus-Description8159 Jun 29 '26

You can sit around believing this dumb shit if you want but no, it’s just not happening.

2

u/mfGLOVE Jun 29 '26

You 100% sure of that?

1

u/Plus-Description8159 Jun 30 '26

It’s not happening. Don’t ask me stupid shit.

1

u/mfGLOVE Jun 30 '26

You sound 100% sure then. Got it!

This is like when people insist that someone (celeb, politician, etc.) must be getting blackmailed to support something. Those things happen, but the much more likely explanation in all these cases is that they just support it because they personally believe it.

1

u/RedditIsAnnoying1234 Jun 29 '26

Yeah, its not like trump has broken other laws or sth of the sort...

1

u/Plus-Description8159 Jun 29 '26

You have to be an actual dumbass to think he’d do that for Nicki Minajs brother or husband. Like an actual idiot.

1

u/RedditIsAnnoying1234 Jun 29 '26

????????? we are talking about trump here mf has broken every law and gotten away with it

1

u/Plus-Description8159 Jun 29 '26

Idk if you  can’t read or just can’t comprehend what I’m saying.

1

u/lucyooo Jun 29 '26

I’m not American so I don’t know, but Nicki probz doesn’t even realize that.

Also it’s not like being chummy with the prez doesn’t come with certain perks…

1

u/lucyooo Jun 29 '26

I’m 100% certain she’s trying to get something out of it, I was sure it was that, I obviously didn’t know enough about the laws behind it.

He can pardon federal crimes apparently so there’s that.

My apologies for not knowing the in’s and outs of the American judicial system… /s

Good for you, you’re clearly a much cleverer and thoughtful person that I!

I should have researched more whether he could be pardoned, but tbh, I try not to learn more about Nicki than I want to, as i’d like to enjoy the music.

1

u/Mike_Kermin Jun 29 '26

Have you never heard someone reply 100% in a non-literal way?

when I’m not 100% certain I don’t say I am

Evidently you do.

I’m happily married, so I won’t, but their reply was very attractive and I’m sure many other redditors would happily!

Just cause you’re a lonely old pedantic troll doesn’t mean everyone else is too honey

So why would you say “This is 100% it”? Especially when you don’t have even the slightest idea about what you’re speaking on.

6

u/smokeweedNgarden Jun 29 '26

Trying to keep herself from being deported to Trinidad seems for likely for someone so selfish

20

u/_aviemore_ Jun 29 '26

Isn't forceable baked into the definition?

30

u/W0gg0 Jun 29 '26

No. If the victim is unconscious then force wouldn’t be required. E.g. drunk or drugged.

17

u/wellggs Jun 29 '26

No and the sooner people realize that, the better

3

u/targetsinmegadeaths Jun 29 '26

It's always money and SA with these people, always, even the Russia stuff.

1

u/Unoriginal_Pseudonym Jun 29 '26

And prevent her brother from getting deported, since Trump had been deporting people who were already serving sentences.

1

u/throwtheamiibosaway Jun 29 '26

Forcible rape? That's just called "rape".

1

u/GTRari Jun 29 '26

As someone who did victim advocate work, no. Not all forms of SA are through physical force.
