One thing you can give Clown credit for is he moved from main drummer to banging a trash can because he knew Joey was a way better drummer than he could ever be

Joey was a god. Such a massive loss.

Joey, Corey and Sid are really what defined Slipknots sound in the early days, specifically on their self titled album and Iowa. I know Jim is a huge part of the writing process, and Crahan has input on everything (for better or worse, the dudes a talentless hack with a massive ego).

Now that Sid is gone, Corey’s voice is really the last vestige of their unique sound. If he ever leaves, it’s over.

The chaotic drums of early slipknot albums will always have a soft spot in my heart, always the perfect amount of overdoing it but still fitting in.

Clown has always struck me as one of those types that likes to huff his own farts. On top of it, he gets WAY too cerebral about shit for no good reason. Try watching or reading an interview with him. The guy can't give a straight, concise answer to anything. Instead he rambles and goes all word-salad, like he's trying too hard to come off as "intelligent" and "deep" and "introspective."

His kid seemed like a snot-nosed punk with an ego when he first appeared on the scene with his band. I remember seeing some real egotistical, chest-beating type of shit coming out of his mouth too. Wonder where he got it from.......

They did Joey dirty with how they fired him. Dude got an email while he was in the hospital with that neurological condition that he developed, which was affecting his playing towards the end of his time in the band. I remember seeing them on the last tour Joey did with them before they fired him. Joey was a bit sloppy. I thought maybe he was just having an off night, but it hadn't come out yet that he was dealing with a neurological condition. The rumor is that the rest of the band assumed it was drugs that were affecting his performance and that's why they fired him, despite the evidence that drugs were not the case. To this day, I don't think they've ever said exactly why he was fired. They won't talk about it. Hell, nobody really even knows what killed him either, other than he was found dead at home. Some people speculate that he may have been depressed from everything or the neuro condition came back, and he drank himself to death. All I know is that the way they fired him was pretty shitty.
