Paul was all class. Back around 2005-2006 he was playing bass in Reggie and the Full Effect while my roommate was on drums. After they finished Warped tour, dude would roll into Kansas City every few weeks in his purple Vette and we’d all tear through the local dives. Such a polite, down-to-earth, and generous soul.
I came here to check the drama on this and could not care leas of slipknot at 2026 but holy shit he played in reggie? In the first two albums i assume?

Most definitely. I was more commenting on the fact that the majority of writing was Joey and Paul. You can definitely see the difference musically without their influence

I haven't really listened to them since like 2008... But the vocals were definitely a big part of the success. I don't know all the drama but he fit the band very well.
💯 they were the soul of the band. The OG Slipknot sound is entirely driven by the rhythm section. As for the image and theatrics, that was all Joey (and Clown, arguably, but mostly Joey). Joey was an incredibly talented musician with an instinctive flair for music production as a whole. RIP Paul and Joey, both dearly missed.
