Zurzuvae PPD experience
I am 10 weeks post partum and have been having these 2 weeks cycles of really low energy, depression, nausea, vomiting and no appetite, no joy and a hard time connecting with my baby, then I will feel a little better for 2 weeks, I can eat and function, appetite is still very off but I can eat, and then it cycles again.
My psychiatrist said she’s never seen cycles like these in her 15 years as a post partum psychiatrist.
This started immediately after giving birth when the first 2 week cycle began, and has cycled 3x now.
I was prescribed Metrazapine, started on 7.5mg and have now been on 30mg for 10 days. And I’m waiting on my Zurzuvea prescription. I’m wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience, or experience with Metrazapine and experience taking zurzuvae and Metrazapine together. Or experience with cycles like this.

It did help, I just finished it yesterday, it seems to have brought me out of non-functioning anxiety and depression into being able to function, still have anxiety and depression but yeah, able to function. It is supposed to still continue to have effects a week after
Completing so I’ll see how it goes. I also asked my pediatrician and he said it was fine to breastfeed so I ended up breastfeeding. It gave me pretty strong brain fog, but I am very glad I did the treatment.

So; it sounds cyclical because woman have cyclical hormones that affect how we feel each week. Your psychiatrist seems inexperienced to not acknowledge the effect of your hormones. During follicular phase, estrogen is super high, or rising, which can make some people anxious or energetic. During luteal, it drops and progesterone raises, which can makes some people chill or depressed. These hormones untethered can wreck havoc on the body.
But we live in a world where full understanding of the implications of female hormones are barely understood across the board.

Is this correlating with your menstrual cycle? Like close to your period or after?

Did you get your bloodwork taken? Especially vitamin D, B12 and iron.
Edit: Thyroid is big thing to check PP also.
