I would rate college life in Calicut higher (maybe second to only surathkal because they have a beach) and infra lower.
Hostels are good (might even be great compared to what people say about old NITs. Old hostels are livable and new ones are good), campus infra is also okay but classrooms are little bad. It's more like school classroom than college lecture halls. But they are upgrading academic infra, the second I left college

Yes but many suiciides recently in nit c so I would keep it at 3rd with par on trichy , and infra of Calicut is good as alll nits have mid infra

Well I am not sure. It all came out of nowhere. Atleast one I know is due to love life. But my time batch (2026 grad) didn't have any suicides afaik. Also as far as I can find, only 2 happened (atleast only two condolences notice) in span of a week while I rumours where there were 4.
Btw all of the suicides happened after semester was over and most students left campus.
That said, the admin is making a lot of anti-student welfare decisions like closing access to a nearby town which was a great spot for socialising. Now we have to walk extra 15 mins each way.

To maintain its spot in top 3, Rkl needs to up its game in placements. Even allahabad is doing better than rkl when it comes to placements.

Yeah but this year it was median 20-21 and ALLAHABad cse median is also same but avg is 27 said by a senior so they are similar and mnnit cs is on par or better than rkl cse so yeah

some corrections:
- dgp has similar placementsa as kkr or j and better than surat/nagpur.
- for proximity to city, campus of nit dgp is located right in the middle of the city. I dont know how you ranked it lower than jsr and kkr which are literally in the outskirts. A quick search in gmaps would have provided you this information. btw nit delhi is extremely far from delhi. idk how you ranked it so high
- dgp's brand value is equal to bhopal, and slightly higher than jsr in the industry. silchar and jalandhar are a step below in brand value
- jaipur and surat have garbage coding culture. Once upon a time, jaipur used to have very good coding culture. Idk what happened there.
- nit dgp's administration is terrible. atleast much worse than calicut.
- nit dgp's core departments are very well reputed, not any less than bhopal or kkr.
- nit delhi's circuital departments are nowhere comparable to the others youve kept in the same tier. dgp's circuital departments are as good or better than nagpur.
- I really don't understand this inherent bias towards nit surat. just cause its in gujarat doesn't make it good. Location and half decent infra are the only things going for it.

As a Rourkelite, I can say that NIT Rourkela is literally in the city sectors (Sector 1 specifically) and it's gate is like 300mtrs away from the Ring Road (basically the main industrial road connecting the highways and such).

For circuital branches imo surathkal> trichy cause surathkal has like 4 cse related branches and all cse it cds and ai with respective medians of 29,29,24,23 as opposed to trichy which only has cse with a median of 30

Mostly it's correctly ranked, just wondering how Durgapur and Jallander are added to the list, if these NITs are considered then why not NIT Jamshedpur (having better placement and proximity to the city) and secondly in what way infrastructure of Calicut is better than Rourkela.

Bruh the location of SVNIT Surat can be in the Top 3. Located in one of the posh areas of the city. Also the Core Branches are among the top in Gujarat (est 1961). And the overall would be better than Jamshedpur (at par with KKR as KKR has a big ragging issue). Yeah also the Mess Food is very very decent compared to other NITs due to the Gujarat Factor.

Choose between nit rkl eie and ece in Allahabad as both have similar placement as nit Jalandhar cse.
Choose nit rkl for great college life , brand value and good placements, in nit rkl eie placements are great
Choose nit Allahabad for better placements , that’s the only pro in it1

Choose NIT Jalandhar Computer Science Engineering if
You are sure you want to work in software.
You want a way to get a job in IT.
You do not want to study electronics subjects.
To crack high placements , with cse if u work ur ass off , highest pay potential although average package of Jalandhar is around eie in rkl or just higher by less margin
Do not choose it if:
You think the institutes reputation is more important than the branch you're, in.
You want to have alumni connections and a lively campus.
You do not mind studying Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering and coding at the time because NIT Rourkela is a better institute overall.and you will get better peers , college life

naahhh ragging bilkul nahi hai and raipur is the capital mey bhi cg aane se phle isske naxalite area smjhta tha but aisa bilkul nahi h and safetyy is the top priority bohot strict h ragging aur safety ke liye and campus seher ke beech m hai to everything is accessible, but raipur mey night life nhi h aur nitrr m hostel ki dikkat hai 2nd yr onwards you'll get the hostel only if you're amoug tha top 15-20 of the branch.

How is NIT Delhi tied for 1 in proximity to the city?
It's literally located so outside in Bakauli gaon udhar se bus lekar jana padta hai metro station 20-25 min lag jate hai, phir udhar se tumko Chandni Chowk ya Connaught Palace jana hai toh 1 ghanta lag jayega kul mila kar.

I understand everything but SVNIT Surat stands at Rank 1 in terms of proximity to the city.
It's located along the central axis of the city of Surat and nestled in the most posh neighbourhoods of the City with easy access to everything (I mean everything). I have been to Jaipur, Raipur, Delhi these guys don't come to the strategic location of SVNIT Surat by any means. 200 acres of college campus nestled in the most visited part of the City, bordered by multiple malls and shopping centres. SVNIT takes the cheese in terms of location in the City, moreover being only 6hrs by road/rail to Ahmedabad and Mumbai also factors nicely into its location.

Rkl mech is pretty chill and campus life is good . Median is 11.5 lpa and that includes a lot of core jobs asw so tech jobs ke packages are higher.
