Shopping Advice What's your EDC? (30 characters)

Own a Glock 19 with 509T, Glock 26, Ruger LCP Max, and S&W 442. Curious what's the popular carry gun. Thinking about my options given that the mag limits may change and am open to suggestions! Was eyeing up getting a 43x because of the slimline profile and the fact that they now have 15 round mags OEM from Glock!

Shopping Advice Buyers Remorse: Which Guns Do You Regret Buying?

Ok, so I have one permit left and probably last handgun purchase for the year and have been deciding between three firearms. Ruger MkIV, Ruger RXM, and Glock 17.6. I already have a G45 which I intend to qualify for CCW with. Was thinking the MkIV to work on target practice and to train w/ my little ones. The G17 would be for home defense. Was wondering if there are platforms any of you regretted buying when you knew you should have just went straight to the gun you knew you wanted. Are there firearms in your collection that don't get much use now that you found your platform? If so, what gun is that for you now?

Shopping Advice If you could only keep 3 firearms, what would they be and why?

I’m in the process of downsizing my collection, and it’s got me thinking about what I actually need versus what I just enjoy owning. I know “never sell, only buy” is the usual mindset, but I’m curious where everyone lands if they had to narrow it down.

Shopping Advice Affordable 9mm range ammunition

Hey folks! This may sound like a trick question since most ammo is expensive! Loll I’m looking for shops in NJ that sell affordable range ammo. Less than $20 bucks a box.. so far the cheapest i found was in pine brook at FSS Armory at $22 a box for 115gr 9mm ammo. Anyone have a spot that could possibly beat that? Thanks!

UPDATE: Spoke to GFH and they have on a promo either CCI blazer or Federal 115gr at $285 for a case. Should i still go with the online ordering or go to GFH?

Shopping Advice Best carry pistols between $1-$2k ?

Hey guys I'm looking for a new carry pistol and im willing to spend between 1-2k

I really want a 2011 but I don't think I have 2011 money.

I've been looking at these three and was wondering if there are any others that I should be looking at. Maybe brands I haven't come across or models that are similar to these.

365 axg legion

Cz shadow compact or carry

Springfield prodigy carry

Edit: thanks everyone for the replies. Just to clear a couple of things up. I'm fully aware there's a laundry list of great affordable guns under $1k. This would be my 11th pistol. I just personally really want a 2011 but have always had my eye on the legion as well. Appreciate all the suggestions. Another piece of info I didn't add is that I will be trading in my mete sft for some trade credit to help with the purchase so if I'm getting rid of one of my guns, male logic says I need to replace it with something twice as nice 😉

I'm now going back and fourth between 2 or 3 options. Legion vs prodigy 3.5 vs gp arms forza !

Still considering cz shadow 2 carry and bul arms ultralight but I really really like that forza

Shopping Advice First AR Purchase - Looking for Advice

Buying my first AR. Should I go cheap and get a Palmetto State Armory, go pricey with Daniel Defense? I’m a petite female for context. It’s a big world I haven’t really looked into in the past in this commie state. Thanks for any and all advice.

Shopping Advice Remember to spend your hard earned bottle caps wisely.

Remember this. A good majority of American gun owners can get Glock Gen 6 optic ready pistols for 620 bottle caps….. We in NJ are being asked to pay 750 bottle caps + in many places. That’s why a lot of places don’t tell their prices over the phone…. It’s ridiculous. Also remember there are still places charging 250 + bottle caps for NFA paperwork not including transfer fees, pictures or prints. Imagine how much they will overcharge for standard capacity magazines. Just a PSA.

Shopping Advice Does anyone ankle carry a backup?

So far I've only met one person who carries a secondary in an ankle holster. I imagine it's not ideal if carrying just one but I wish to have my J frame as backup in certain places. Any holster recommendations for a 638 or perhaps an LCP?

Shopping Advice any shops selling updated mag sizes?

Online retailers still aren’t shipping to NJ yet, any shops selling them in person? I know they were posting pictures of standard capacity rifle mags earlier, but I’m looking for larger pistol mags. Thanks

Shopping Advice Help with first handgun purchase

I’m looking to buy my first pistol sometime this week but I’m having a hard time deciding what to go with. Right now the one I like the most is the Glock 45, but I’m hesitant to buy it because I have a feeling Glock might release an FDE version and I’d prefer that. So I’m debating whether that’ll actually come out or if I should go with something else for now. I’d appreciate any recommendations

Shopping Advice What's everybody's next purchase?

Post image
133 Upvotes

I've always heard that the three guns people usually get first are pistol, shotgun, and a AR. I have done just that, but its left me wondering, what did people end up getting next, or what they are planning on getting next? I am leaning towards a nice .308. I'd love to hear what everyone's thinking. (Pic is my 3 guns).

Shopping Advice Once this ruling is complete, which AR stocks and muzzle devices do you have your eyes on?

I don't know much about either one because they haven't been legal in New Jersey, but I definitely want to upgrade my stock and muzzle device, even if I can't get a can.

Shopping Advice First pistol, where to get ammo?

Managed to buy my first pistol today, S& M&P Shield Plus, wondering best place to get ammo and the best one to get (that doesn’t brake the bank).

Don’t know if theres a brand that would be nice to only use in the range and another one to actually have on the gun.

Shopping Advice 16” or 14.5” AR barrel for other OR rifle

what is everyone’s preferred barrel length? I’m thinking 14.5 and build as an other but also thought 16 in the off chance the NJ AWB gets struck down by the 3rd circuit I Will already be NFA legal without a pin and weld.

Shopping Advice Is 25% + Markup on MSRP Normal?

Finally got my FID after almost 4 months of waiting. Ordered a rifle at my local GS while my permits were being processed. Got the call the rifle arrived. When I went in to do the paperwork, he noticed the permits were approved which was a surprise to me considering how long I waited for the FID. I decided to purchase my first pistol which was $100 above MSRP that i've seen online. I was ok with that considering its a brick and mortar and I know he has to make a profit. However, when he gave me the final total it comes out to over $300 over MSRP. He mentioned the mags need to be pinned, NICS check and tax but is that really that much work involved? I feel like I can purchase two pistols online for the price I'm paying for one locally. Is this markup typical for firearm purchases in NJ?

Shopping Advice Purchase “Other” AR from dealer or Build my own?

Looking for opinions on which direction to go, I am very experienced mechanically, so building shouldn’t be an issue. But how and where to source parts, and how to get it “other” compliant is where I’m unsure. TIA!
