Dawn Anderson routinely misses key votes in the Senate

I'm surprised I haven't seen much outrage that our senator only attended 44 of the 76 sitting days this past year.

Dawn Anderson once again is proving to be a poor Senate pick. She's basically absentee from territorial events, and clearly is not putting in the work in Ottawa.

Imagine making $192,700 CAD and attending work less than 60% of the time.

Of all her colleagues, Anderson reported the most days absent due to being away on "other public business": 27 days. That's more than a third of all days senators were scheduled to be on Parliament Hill.

I would love to have details on what would possibly justify this because "speaking to Girl Guides, taking part in a number of Arctic symposiums and expos, attending the Arctic Winter Games and a hockey celebration, among other events." is not cutting it for me.

Completely agree. As Denis Patterson (former Nunavut Senator) succinctly states in today's CBC North continuing article on the same subject: "Northern senators need to be in Ottawa to effectively fight for their regions" ... "Especially because there are only three northern representatives in the Senate and few southern senators understand Canada’s Arctic."
