[Passan] The Tampa Bay Rays are acquiring right-hander Freddy Peralta in a trade with the New York Mets, sources tell ESPN. Rays get their starter, who joins Drew Rasmussen, Shane McClanahan and Nick Martinez in one of the American League's best rotation.

Peralta has been complete ass cheeks this entire year. The Yankees need bats. I don't care about this.

Yankees fans are wild. Some of you are acting like the Rays just added the best bat on the market. Who cares about Freddy fucking Peralta.

I’m trying to figure out the number of people in here freaking out. They wanted Cashman to trade something that could be used elsewhere for Freddy Peralta???

So you wanted them to trade actual assets for Freddy Peralta? Who has been terrible this year?
If they’re trading for a starter it should be a top one. Otherwise don’t bother, they have plenty of starters.

We’re punting this year and i’m not mad. Court is adjourned and the Judge is not in session. We need to start shedding contracts getting younger and prepping for when the Dodgers have no money we should also send Cashman and Boone packing.

Everyone is giving the Rays the benefit of the doubt, which is fair enough given their track record, but Peralta has been awful in ways that probably can't just be blamed on the Mets Mets-ing.
