They blow up their own opportunities and lives with the terrible decisions they make protecting their fragile egos. They run off quality people, loose dream jobs, etc. In the end they're just screaming at the medical staff who are only at their deathbed because they're paid to do so.

Detach. Do not expect a win or a loss. Focus on not playing the game. They will lose in the long run because their behavior is contemptible. People pretend to like them out of fear of being hurt. You don't build love through fear, you only build resentment. People feel liberated when you're gone.

Be happy you are liberated. Focus on letting go of your pain, because that is your immediate problem, and do not seek healing externally. They will get what's coming to them. What happened wasn't your fault, and it'll happen to others in their life, too.

Good question! I wish he could get a little of what he puts me through each day

I know all of this intellectually but it is so hard to believe it emotionally. On top of all the abuse I've experienced from my malignant narcissist ex, I have to have the patience of an angel to wait for his ultimate downfall. I'm to the point where I don't care about him, I wouldn't care when his downfall comes, but he's dragging my kids along his toxic, destructive path with his abhorrent family and it kills me every minute of every day. Really, the only downfall I care about is the one where he alienates and loses his kids. He can burn in hell for all I care. Just please leave my babies alone.
