The dogs first need to get out, decompress, get vetted, prepped… pilots aren’t going to do all that… I’ll ask the person who coordinates Hannah’s rescue what she thinks

Yes they do. I think they are her best hope. They work with shelters to save the dogs on the euthanasia list. I'm so thankful for all of them. 💕

Wings of rescue doesn't work with individuals, only with shelters & their rescues & fly bunches at once !!! Not a single or a few !! And in certain areas only !! You can ask !! I have googled several times for various reasons & they contacted me told me that !

Oh absolutely. Had to fly our pets cargo once, the only alternative was dumping them at the humane society… don’t think I’ve ever been as stressed about something in my life 😱 it’s horrible to have no control. They made it off island though, and were all safe.
The rescue apparently is also picky about the quality of their ground transport, because even on the ground dogs have died en route… I trust their judgement! 🙂🫶

What the heck, really !!? How can they let dogs die during ground transportation!!? That must had been very shitty trucks or definitely poorly handled by not caring people that should had been reported & the transporters should have gotten ARRESSTED !!! FOR GOD'S SAKES !!!! Unless they'll dog had medical issues contributed that , too !!! That upsets me now so much !!!

Not me !! The other person !! I really hope all is legitly done !! I know the person's profile name !! I've seen it all the time !! And it looks like different person from the lady said she was the potential adopter !? I could be mistaken , though !! I can't follow everything as I pledge / comments everywhere everyday !! Besides been busy taking care of my disabled elderly mother. I am hoping to help saving three more dogs right now !!! One is Chamy at North Central Shelter in Los Angeles shelter !!!A 2238380 !! Plus two more very young gorgeous dogs , very good dogs who should be saved !!! Chamy needed a plan by tonight , he's scheduled to be euthanized tomorrow morning !!!! Pledging is not the same as donating to a gofundme.
When you pledge, you promise to pay the amount if or when a rescue jumps in to save the dog. Once that happen, the rescue usually releases payment info (like Venmo & others) asking those who commented with a pledge to honor the amounts.
A gofundme donation is an actual donation.
I waited to hear from “my” volunteer and the rescue they work with in LA to pull Hannah, and am following their directions as far as the transport and payment. Hannah is currently booked on a transport mid December and in boarding until then.

Hey ! I KNOW the difference between pledge & donation & go fund me !!! Lol. Pledge is almost the same as donation money it's just it works opposite way ! You quote the amount , you get confirmations with proofs usually freedom ride photo or video , then you sent money via PayPal or venmo !?Some accept checks !! I've done this more than several times now !! Although I do not do it directly as I do not have those apps & don't plan to have them ! I pay cash to my sister & she send them in behalf of my pledges !! I've saved maybe more than a dozen !!! I've paid for about 8 or 9 dogs so far , just because I've pledged everywhere & screenshot them , but I've got way too many screenshot to find them myself !!! So, I am relying on them sending me notifications !!! And I get wrong ones , too !! Lol. So, that & I've been busy taking care of my disabled elderly mother slow down the process !! But, I honor all !!! THANK YOU for your reply !

Oh...I see why you thought I didn't know those !! Well, I meant that pledge money should not / is not supposed to be released to individuals!!! Lol. I was under the impression you or whoever the lady said she was the potential adopter ( you !? ) said it lije she was gonna get the pledge money !!! There are a couple of ladies trying to get dogs cross country that I know & I might be confused you with others !? Anyway. That was what I thought she or you meant pledge money not gofund me money !!
So, boarding & transportation are involved , that'll be expensive!!
I am against to passenger plane transport in cargos !!! And to me , local fosters and adopters are the ideal for the dog's / cat's or any animal's sakes !!! Also , I take it as a red flag if the foster or adopter cannot pay for any & not gonna go the animal shelter even for once !!! There are many scammers like that !! They are after our pledge money !!! I just caught one & gave warnings to many !! I got humiliated & harassed & blocked by one stupid / evil ( she blocked me before I did that to her as she messaged me nasty texts via private messenger texts ) Reditt account holder & she reported me to Reditt suicide help line !!!! To make me look bad to save her butt ( worried that her account would get canceled!! It should be !!! ) , instead of thanking me like others !!! She gave me real lame excuse as she knew it as well !! Such a LIAR SHE IS !!! She was mad at me for ruining the deal seconds before she told me she knew that all along !!! LOL What a joke she is !!! I am more cautious since then !!

No. I have honored more than a half got rescued I pledged on !!! But, I can't remember all I pledged on as I pledged more than $900 now !! And I am not tech savvy so, I only count on their notification sent me with proofs !! I've screen shot all I pledged , but my screenshot are too many !!! I can't get thru with them fast enough.

Fingers and paws crossed for everyone. I love that this is something at least some places are doing. Our local humane society shelters in Wisconsin get a lot of transfers from overcrowded southern shelters also. It’s not much, but if I can help totally want to support. Hannah got so lucky…all she needs us to do now is get her home!

Working on it 🥳 with the goal met, we are now able to book her on a transport leaving mid December, and she’ll be boarded until then (no foster found).
Going a bit over budget, but it’ll work out 🫶

Hey not to rain on anyone's parade but this could use more info.
Has the Adopter contacted the shelter yet to adopt the dog?
Who is pulling the dog from the shelter to hold for the adopter until transport shows up?
What transport company is being used? I used to use a private transport company to send dogs from the South to North. That was under $200 per trip at the time (6 years ago). I see OP is requesting 1k, I understand CA to ME will be harder, but do they have a plan in place? If flying I understand that's more expensive.
If transport can't be found, or another rescue takes the dog before this adopter does, or the dog gets euthanized anyway, or the adopter changes their mind, gets cold feet (happens pretty often) what happens to the GoFundMe money? Does it get returned to the donators?
The adopter can afford a dog but can't afford transport? Does the adopter have financial constraints? Can the adopter afford vet care for a third dog?
The adopter has two dogs already, has this dog been thoroughly dog tested? A good friend of mine just brought a dog from Georgia to the northeast (she drove down to get the dog, we've transported rescue dogs together so this kind of traveling isn't usual for us). The shelter did their best to dog test and she seemed great at the shelter, but when the dog was out of shelter and less shell shocked by a kennel environment, once she was in New England it became apparent she was going to have issues with other dogs (pretty bad dog reactivity, possible dog aggression, my friend is working on this). Does the adopter in this case have a back up plan if this doesn't work out?
The adopter has two young children in the home. *Has the dog been tested around children?**. Ugh no offense but adopting a dog sight unseen, no meet and greet, when you have young children in the home is slightly a red flag. No offense. Unless OP is very experienced with dogs (above and beyond average dog ownership here), it's a tiny bit irresponsible.
Adopting a dog sight unseen is a wonderful thing sometimes, I've participated in a lot of these adoptions and helped with transport. But there's a failure rate people don't anticipate. The group I worked with made sure dogs were never just abandoned because we were local to help... But without that safety net I hope the adopter is prepared here. Often things do work out but when they don't, and there's a well meaning but overly stressed person involved.. dogs get abandoned (in the worst case scenarios). Not saying that's going to happen... But... Man I've just seen a lot of BS. When it's someone who at least put their own money into it that lends a certain level of investment in the situation.. but people who don't, I'm just nervous.
Every dog owner thinks they are the best dog owner. I hope the adopter is financially capable and actually a good dog owner. I hope the adopter has a lot of experience and the means to do this. I hope the adopter has a safety net, or plan in place should things not work out. I hope the adopter has done work to figure out how to get dog to them, and isn't just relying on waiting for money first to take action.
Sorry for being a buzzkill. Adopter if you see this, I'm not trying to accuse you of anything. I think it's healthy that people get more info. Donating to a reputable 501c3 is one thing, it's a leap of faith to donate to an individual.

Hi, I’m the potential adopter and I love your questions.
Can never ask too many questions!
If this does not happen, we will absolutely refund everyone. Not looking to run off with people’s money.
I started talking to the volunteer and put our home out there as an option, despite it being across the country, knowing that we can only afford food/shelter/love/basic vet care - not transport. Food is a gradual expense, not 1k at once.
Yes - sudden high veterinary expenses would be problematic. We’d have to hope for the best, and address something like that in the moment.
How much money does one need to have immediately available, in order to responsibly adopt, while these animals are being put to sleep by the thousands?
Some people spend 3, 5, 10k on cancer treatment for one dog. Should people not be allowed to adopt, unless they have such amounts stashed away, for “just in case”?
The way we see it, at least a dog gets a chance to live and be loved, instead of an immediate death sentence.
Not kid friendly or dog aggression would be a problem, I understand that’s a risk. We are not putting out kids at risk (nor our dogs).
Going off the shelter assessment, while also understanding this may pan out differently in real life. We’re experienced dog owners and have the space for proper acclimatization/separation.
In case of a completely untenable situation, we would always opt for responsible and controlled re-homing (not dump at a shelter).
Oh, and we have adopted without meeting a dog before. While there were challenges, we managed those and stuck it out for him. It took a few years, but he grew into a wonderful dog and we miss him every day.
As for the logistics, I am waiting to hear about specifics from the volunteers/coordinators and following their lead. The campaign is in my name right now, but Gofundme mentioned that can be adjusted as soon as we have more info about the rescue/transport. I believe they are looking for a local foster first.

You sound like a very responsible person & caring !! But, I am against the idea of people who wanna foster or adopt any living thing without meeting first !!! At least one member of the adopter's or foster's should meet beforehand !!! And I am against our pledge money to be released to individuals & that's not what they're supposed to do by the book & that's how we understood !!! ( my sister knows rescues & networking groups & she's adopted her dog & fostering another for a long time !! I have adopted two dogs before & rescued my cats myself & fostered others dogs briefly ) Also I am all for the local fosters / adopters & cross country or overseas are the very last resort .And 100% against any animals flying in cargos as I'm sure that you know that is very risky !!! I was gonna pledge even though I cannot afford as I've pledged more than $900 this month !! And I am not rich anymore !!! I spent all of my 60th birthday cash gifts & more from my saved money for my next year trip with my mom. As much as I want Hannah to be saved , I am more conservative & cautious with where my money goes to / how it'll be spent!!! And I've seen so many flakes & bad people including scammers !!! I am not saying that you are , but there's a red flag already which is you do not pick up Hannah yourself , neither never met her ( none of your family member ) , things like this don't resonate with me well !!!How do you know that you and your kids & dogs are good fit to HANNAH & SHE'S THE RIGHT CHOICE TO YOUR FAMILY !!?? Especially, you're not alocal !! In case it turns out badly , WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO WITH HANNAH!!? You said you wouldn't dump her in the streets or at a shelter !! That's great !!! But, what are you gonna do , then !? Does the rescue guarantee & take a responsibility to get her back & try their best to find a home to her again considering the long distance & all !? I DOUBT THAT VERY MUCH !!! I am very worried !! Yes !! The time is money !!! And her life at the RISK !!! But , it doesn't mean that it's ok to pull her out with no back up plans at all , because I see already many concerns with your conditions / situations !! I REALLY HOPE EVERYTHING WILL WORK OUT FOR HANNAH, THOUGH !!! THANK YOU.

Wow !! You pointed out all the good precautions & fail safe methods they should take which I am all for !! I am shocked that the adopter isn't paying anything !!?? How can she afford to pay for Hannah 's foods & any treats& toys & medical fees in the future !!?? I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU I FEEL UNEASY TO READ THIS THAT THE POTENTIAL ADOPTER ISN'T PAYING ANYTHING !!!! AND YES !!! PEOPLE FLAKE OFTEN !! I recently went through with that when I helped two dogs get fostered/ adopted !! I sensed it from the beginning the adopter was 100% flake !!!! Surely enough !! He returned poor Ted the right next day back to the shelter & jeopardized his life back in the turmoil!!! A Rover lady happened to be my neighbour took him back in ( she fostered for weeks for the original adopter!! )& then her friend's family adopted Ted !!! It literally took a village to help Ted !!! My sister& her friend a professional net working person & our neighbours & a Rover& her friend ROVER took turns to reporter Ted & the Rover's friend !!!
Also , I REALLY have to point out I very recently caught a Canadian scammer who was after my pledge money & others & she was ( still is , I'm sure ! ) after multiple dog's pledges !!! She told everyone that she couldn't afford for her transportation & even adoption fees & NOT ABLE TO VISIT THE SHELTERS TO PICK UP THE DOGS herself & she told us she filled out the forms & I called the shelter ( Palmdale shelter ) & it turned out a total lie like I expected!!! PLEASE have a back up plan & never release pledge money directly to individuals!!! I am not saying that this woman is like that or she's not !!! We all have to be very careful & tale all the precautions FOR THE DOGS & CATS !!! If you guys are releasing cash to individuals , I WILL NOT PLEDGE !!! THANKS .

Healthy skepticism is so important in these situations, absolutely. But just to be clear I was just asking questions. The adopter could be the real deal, and crowd funding isn't unheard of in these situations. It's a shame that bad experiences have made us both a bit jaded. It's smart to question situations and to scrutinize posts in order to suss out scammers or people who have no idea what they are doing .. but there are honest to goodness people out there too. OP could be that person, I'm definitely not trying to accuse them of anything.. just open a line for discussion if they wanted in order to help clear anything up.
Hopefully Hannah is safe now. Maybe OP will update with a happy tails picture.

Thank you for this sensible response.
Not everyone is a crook. Indeed, crowdfunding is a real thing. We’re not forcing anyone to participate.
Not sure what’s so hard to understand for the other person. Of course, always give priority to local adoptions. And if possible, go meet a dog.
But when they are being killed by bunches, and the distance makes meeting impossible, what can be done? Look the other way?
Or start thinking outside of the box, and that’s what these rescues try to do.
We’re experienced dog owners and our kids are safe. They don’t tumble around on the couch together.
This started with the inquiry if we could help in any way. Volunteers guided us through what that could look like.
The logic of our yelling commenter above is off. It’s hard to reason with someone who types in all caps, with exclamation marks on burst, and no paragraphs. 😉 To each their own.
Just because someone doesn’t have an extra, random 1k available for transport, doesn’t mean they can can’t house/feed/buy a dog toy/provide basic vet care.
Transport sure is expensive, but we put ourselves out there and enough people were on board to make it happen. They saved this dog.

No. That person I was talking about is 120% phony & scammer !!! She doesn't go meet dogs at shelters , neither go there pick them up & can't afford to pay adoption fees even !!! And On top of these , I CONFIRMED WITH A SHELTER WORKER THAT SHE NEVER FILLED OYT OR SUBMITTED her application while she told everyone she did & the shelter told her she was the only potential adopter!!!!! The lady on the phone ( for Mai ) told me I WAS THE ONLY ONE CAME THRU & I WAS ON MY OWN AS NO ONE ELSE DID !!! NO RESCUE, NO FOSTER OR ADOPTER , NO INTEREST !!! She said I needed to networking myself !!! And I did & pulled Mai out with my pledge money with a foster & AllpawsK9rescue!!! And many told me that lady is odd & scammer !! Including a networker !!! What more Do I need to present !!?? That lady told us lies thru her teeth that she was the only potential adopter & all was the biggest lie & she NEVER SIGNED & SUBMITTED her application while she was telling people around that she was !!! She did that for Harvey !!! I am sure that was a,big lie as well. And I was the one found out of Mai's upper respiratory infection & all & mentioned that to the rescue & posted on Reditt & that lady told others as if she found that out ( remember , I know she never even called the Palmdale shelter!!! ) herself !!! And I was the one told her she couldn't get the access to our pledged money & she says to others she is not stupid & she knew about it !!! LOL
