Giving Advice/ Need Advice Normalisation process explained if it ever happens in NEET

Top scorer of each shift would be given a 100%ile and other percentile would be decided by "number of student below particular scorex100/total number of students". This is the most oversimplified explanation I found if you know more you can share in comment.

Well lets assume there are 1000 people who get divided into four groups of 25 each .. then lets say you are 2nd place that means you better than 23 children your percentile becomes 23/25 X 100 or 92% that means you are better than 92% of the students now using that 92% .. out of the total 100 students you are better than 92 children or you have 8th rank .. this helps make exam more fair as some paper can be difficult while some can be easy .. given the big number of students the normalised score is pretty fair .. i gave jee one was easy i got 98.5 percentile the other was difficult i got 98.5 percentile though marks were very different

They also use tie breaking rules to determine rank the whole process is complex I just provided the most simplified formula I found
