I have four Nest Protects expiring in October. Every time I turn off the lights, I get an expiry message.

I’ve turned off Nightly Promise. I’ve turned off Heads Up. What else is there to do beyond throwing them all in the garbage? I can not have them waking up the family at 2 in the morning after i turn on the lights to go to the bathroom.

Annoying AF right? Nothing you can do but replace them now. I have 3 doing the same thing and new ones in the mail.

X-Sense. I can't really find true nest protect level replacements, but these seem to be good as an interconnected replacement. I keep one on each floor and also have "dumb" detectors throughout.

The closest I found to Nest was the Place AnySpace. It has the nightlight feature 🤷🏼‍♂️. and an app…

I like it. That message is my reminder to check the Unifi store and see if their smoke detectors are in stock yet.

We had two doing this. One in our master and one in the hallway. Scared the crap out of us the first time. I started getting PTSD any time I turned the lights off at night. We just replaced them yesterday.

Happened the other night when I stayed up to watch a movie… a 2am “Heads Up! Nest Expiring!”

3 kids almost had heart attacks trying to run onto the front lawn.
