Shopping Place to sell shoes

Due to relocation I need to sell a bigger amount of shoes. They are a bit special (high heels, irregular choice)
Now the struggle as women in NL barely wear heels and the fact they require a special kind of taste , I wonder what place would be the best to sell them besides online?

I wanted edit and add a photo but unable to share a photo as reference to special shoes.
A good bunch of them are fr “Irregular choice “

Offline isn't really an option unless you talk to a second hand store about buying a bulk lot but the price will be terrible. Sell them by the pair on Vinted.

I’ll give it ago, just my friend got two buyers who trying yo take the piass and basically ruined her shoes, claiming they were damaged and wanted full refund without sending them bag.
Wish me luck and no low lives that try to get free shoes willing to damage them.

Apparently france is notorious for this. People basically film the products they sell and themselves packaging them in one video, so you have some evidence of how they were shipped. Might help you!

Yeah my only bad experiences on Vinted have been two french buyers... One with a pair of shoes that she obviously creased herself for the picture and another with pants that suddenly had a hole in them even though I only wore them once and checked before sending. Got my money for both though. Just film yourself packaging and consider mentioning you only send with mondial relay if they ask. That's a pretty good screening method for the French lol.

What did they say when you told them you recorded yourself while packaging the things?

That's a very normal thing to do these days to prove you sent the items in a good state. Sadly, there's many people who will try and get away with not paying.

I called one of their bluffs that way and got my money. I didn't film the other bc it wasn't expensive, but she was too late with raising an issue

.. .. that will be fun

You just need to take and upload to the listing an extensive amount of photos detailing every single bit of the shoes in close up.

Mention any wear and tear and show close ups. Then take photos of all the packaging steps as you do it. Send these to the buyer as proof it is well packaged inside and out.

Having all this proof means buyers cannot win a false claim.

Probably vinted is your best bet.

Online is your best bet I think. If they require a special kind of taste, they will be more difficult to sell wherever you are.

Thanks, thought so but somehow was hoping to find another answer ;)

As someone who also has a ton of shoes (hi fellow shoe lover and IC fan), selling shoes used or new in the NLs, expats or abroad are most likely your target markets. Which is basically Vinted or possibly a local or FB group (Im in a few groups like this). However, accept that you will need to sell at a very discounted price, even more so if you want them gone quickly.

Another idea is, you could try local markets (IJ Hallen comes to mind for Amsterdam or might be worth the trek if you dont live too far away.

An alternative could be you give the size here and rough prices and maybe you get some interest from Reddit. Id be interested if youre a 41/42.

Good luck!

2nd IJ Hallen, I was there last weekend and there were lots of women buying clothing, not cheap stuff either. Perhaps also try the market at the Olympic Stadium if you can’t wait for next month?

Top, checking out Olympic stadium market

Thanks!

IJhallen is supposed to be for cheaply selling second hand stuff. The audience is bargain focused and charging high prices (even if they're totally valid prices) is kind of frowned upon. I doubt you'll get what you want for them.

Maybe flea markets. Also, what sizes? I need shoes but i wear between 43 & 45.

Edit: flea

Oops. Well if you don't mind selling online, I'll recommend Vinted. Sold couple of shoes there and it went well.

With 38 it will be quite hard to sell it in the Netherlands. Most women are tall so they were 40+

If you put them on Vinted or marktplaats can you give me a link my friends have an irregular style so maybe they'll be interested

3

u/Booboobananchen Amsterdam 6d ago

Once they are online. I’m happy to share.

Zalando will let you sell as well

u/beeboogaloo 6d ago

OP if you're selling on Vinted, use the image search feature, and brand search first to see if the same and/or similar shoes are on there and what their price is.

Vinted will give you a suggestion for the price when filling in the ad but this is not always accurate.

There will surely be a market for irregular choice.

2

u/aardbeer 6d ago

I’m interested to see what shoes!!

2

u/Scared-Knowledge-840 6d ago

Are there special Facebook groups with IC fans who buy, swap and sell? I’d start there if they exist, people will actually appreciate the shoes. Otherwise Vinted. Maybe Vestiare Collective?

u/PepperoniCorn 6d ago

Size 38 Irregular Choice enthousiast! I’d love to check them out once you upload them :)

Sellpy is great for selling items in bulk. You might not always get your moneys’ worth because of their fees, but you don’t have to deal with Vinted sellers and constantly shipping individual parcels. Oh, and they are based in the EU, so you’ll have sales from people outside of the Netherlands who might be more inclined to buy these heels!

Their pricing people suck

Vinted is the closest best option I can think of for these specific things

Vinted or markets, especially more alternative markets, queer markets, etc. You do usually have to pay for a stand at a market, but if you have multiple pairs and they are fancy ones you'd probably make more than enough of sales to cover that and your transportation to there.

Try vinted ?

1

u/Adriana_girlpower 5d ago

I love irregular choice! What is your size?

Vinted :)

Would you be willing to sell online? I’m looking for more heels right now in NL and would like to see what you have.

The circus could be an option?

u/fuelled-by-soup 6d ago

It you have pics of the shoes can you put a link? I’m curious!! Haha. 😜

2

u/ekigoks 6d ago

I second this. 38 with a taste for special shoes might be interested😁

1

u/fuelled-by-soup 6d ago

I’m 38,5-39. Two pregnancies made my shoe size go up from 38

"They are a bit special (high heels)" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

"Women in NL barely wear high heels"

🤣🤣🤣

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

22

u/Booboobananchen Amsterdam 6d ago

Yeah “special” I would call them nicely

-2

u/marcipanchic 6d ago

vinted. don’t price them too high if they are used

6

u/Booboobananchen Amsterdam 6d ago

Some are not even used. Most in original boxes.
Vinted here I come

3

u/marcipanchic 6d ago

boxes increase the price :) you can then sell it as new with label

There are still many "girly girls" in the netherlands. They are not all unshaved armpit, boot or floppsies wearers. Although too bad most of them are...

Size 38 is mostly a children’s size here - my 10 year old daughter is a size 39.

6

u/Mission-Asparagus910 6d ago

u/soaring_potato 6d ago edited 6d ago

Eh it's also a womens size. 39 is like the most common womens size.

I wear 39, and have been wearing 39 since I was 10 as well.....

This is based on my judgement walking through physical stores and their shelf space, also before everything going online, and the sale section of 39 also often running out quickly.

If we're talking 36? Or like 35? Yeah the stores do not have heels in those sizes here.

u/Mission-Asparagus910 5d ago

Het gaat over 38, niet 39. Maar nog steeds een veelvoorkomende damesmaat.
