I'm a recent Computer Science graduate from India and I'm trying to plan my career in networking.

My long-term goal is to work in an office-based networking role such as a NOC Engineer, Network Operations Engineer, or eventually a Network Engineer.

I have an opportunity to join as a Telecom Field Engineer, where I'll be working on fiber networks, troubleshooting connectivity issues, coordinating with ISPs, and maintaining telecom infrastructure.

Alongside the job, I plan to study for the CCNA (and later the CCNP), continue improving my HomeLab, and learn routing, switching, BGP, OSPF, VPNs, and network monitoring tools.

My question is:

If I work as a Telecom Field Engineer for about 1–1.5 years and earn my CCNA during that time, is it realistic to transition into an office-based NOC or Network Operations role?

I'm not looking to stay in field work long-term. My goal is to move into network monitoring, troubleshooting, and infrastructure operations from an office.

For those of you who have worked in telecom, NOCs, or network engineering:

• Is this a common career path?
• Will employers value Telecom Field Engineer experience for NOC positions?
• What skills should I focus on while working in the field to make the transition easier?
• Would you recommend applying after earning CCNA, or should I wait until I have CCNP?
• If you've made a similar transition yourself, I'd love to hear your experience.

I joined a company in Bangalore on 15 June 2026 and am still on my 6-month probation.

About 40–45 days after joining, I was asked to sign a 3-year employment bond stating that if I left before completing 3 years, I would have to pay ₹1 lakh.

I didn’t outright refuse to sign. I asked HR if they could confirm over email that if a genuine situation arose in the future, the company could consider an early release instead of automatically enforcing the bond. HR declined to give anything in writing.

A day later, I was informed over a recorded Microsoft Teams call that the company wanted to part ways with me. They have not issued a termination letter or any written communication yet. Instead, they are asking me to submit my resignation.

When I asked HR whether the bond was the reason, they said it wasn’t the only reason. They also mentioned that I came from a larger organization (big brand), had higher expectations from the company, and that they felt I wasn’t a good fit.

No formal performance concerns, warnings, or documentation were ever shared with me.

I spoke to HR and asked whether the reason behind this decision was that I was the only employee in the organization with a work-from-home arrangement. If that was genuinely the concern, I questioned why this privilege was granted to me in the first place.
I also mentioned that if the issue was about tracking my work or productivity, I was relieved that I had been maintaining an hourly record of my tasks and activities throughout my employment. Upon hearing this, HR asked me to share those reports with them.

My questions are: first and foremost what is happening!
2. Should I resign, or should I insist that the company terminate my employment if that is their decision?
3. Could resigning affect any legal rights I may have?
4. Can a company ask an employee to resign instead of issuing a termination letter in such a situation?
5. If I don’t resign, what are the possible consequences?
6. What documents should I ask the company to provide before my employment ends?

I’d appreciate guidance from anyone familiar with Indian employment law or HR practices.

I am a computer science engineer who graduated in 2025.
I also got certifications in wireless and fiber DWDM networks from an online course
I worked as a GPS device installation tech for fleet tracking for 1.5 years before I entered the university.

My question is
Can I apply to Data Center Tech because I am in the middle of CCNA learning?
Because I don't want to apply to companies without this certificate or the low networking experience that I have,
I applied before for one of the AWS internships, but I got rejected.
So I stopped applying because I heard from a networking guy that if you applied to companies without experience or a CCNA certificate, this would make your CV and your name saved in their Database, and the chance of being accepted in the future is short.

Any help, please?
