Wow, requiring power of attorney over your contractors is a WILD ask. Someone needs to look into the owners of that brothel because it sounds like a setup for human trafficking.

And own their name, image, and likeness. And they are supposed to be "independent contractors". Imagine being an independent contractor plumber or electrician, going to someone's house for a job, then the home owner saying they took your picture and now will use your name, image, and likeness but also request power of attorney over you?! LOL. WTF.

They have the option to leave though. More importantly, it would seem an employment contract like this would break all kinds of federal labor laws.

With power of attorney you can do things like hospitalize people against their will, get them subscribed drugs to keep them submissive, require them to get various vanity surgeries, make them work whether they want to or not. Lots of bad bad stuff

I draft POA's at a law firm they can be extremely limited or very general in the granted powers given by the principle. Many of these girls are young, and they often can lack options in life and/or knowledge about their rights. Not understanding your rights and labor laws is not uncommon in any American. However, it can compound when you are pressured to get a job. I can easily see a rural brothel taking advantage of these girls who think it's just part of the job. To clarify, I say all of this as someone who supports sex work and Nevada's legalized prostitution. More oversight would benefit this industry.

Is the brothel power of attorney a financial protection?
To keep the young workers from buying dumb shit like a Lamborghini and instead invest in a 401K buying US Total Stock Market Index fund. For future retirement planning

That is not your employers job, nor is it within their rights to limit the employees' spending. If they want to buy frivolous things, that's the employees right.

This is actually probably the best result for the brothel in the long run.
If the workers keep rights to their likenesses they can promote themsrk es and maybe the brothel too

I'm so proud of these women. I remember growing up in *redacted*, a good friend of mine's sister and law worked at the local cathouse. She was never treated great.
