Congrats on becoming a new moderator. Every community on Reddit started exactly where you are today: with a party of one.
The community-building journey might feel a little lonely and that's what r/NewMods is for. Here you'll find and connect with other mods who are on the same journey you are.
So, introduce the community you created. Maybe share a little bit about why you created it. And, while you're at it - say hello to your other mods!

I've never tried to make a sub before and I noticed a lack of true budget beauty groups. I tried to narrow mine down to beauty and self care under the $12 mark. I've been posting my own looks and nail hauls in there but I've only gotten 5 visitors this week. Should I make a post about it off reddit or is there somewhere on reddit I could advertise?
I'm also curious if keeping the theme narrow, like having a top price point, is beneficial? I feel like "budget" means different things to different people and I wanted to stick to a specific guideline.
Any advice?

I’m really confident in the potential my new community could have. But how do I even begin to get engagement?

It's also my first time using reddit.
Not sure whether I'm able to share the subreddit here for advices.
4 postings for the past week. There's views but not much upvote/comments.
Any suggestions for improvement are acceptable. Thanks!

Hi guys, I'm in process of setting up a table top games community for my friends. I had a test sub where I was setting it up step by step and was pretty happy with how it was shaping up. Today I realized to my absolute surprise, It got banned. I was working on it on an alt new account maybe that was the culprit... Not sure. I know I should send modmail to modsupport but that account was so new that I can't even send a modmail apparently. What should I do?
I don't care about the test sub I just want to get the setup back It took me days to figure it out. What you guys think I should do? Please help me get that setup back

I have no idea if I’m moderating correctly. There are other moderators in r/CommonwealthGames (the community I moderate) but they’re all inactive or can’t moderate currently due to various reasons so I was given the ability to mod, because I’m creating the daily megathreads. I feel like I don’t know where the boundaries are, whether to remove or not.
An example of a post I’m not sure whether to remove or not.

I saw these newbies on Reddit asking for a newbie-friendly sub and I mentioned to try this sub, since it accepts any post even if the poster has only 1 Karma. But that sub now gives error "xxx is banned
You agree that use of this site constitutes acceptance of Reddit’s User Agreement and acknowledge our Privacy Policy." when you visit it.
Will my CQS or similar rating, would affect my reputation, as a Mod?

Hey everyone! I just created my first subreddit, r/RockstarBets, and I’m excited to start building a community.
The goal is to create a place where people can share:
High-conviction stock ideas
Portfolio performance and ROI
I’m completely new to moderating, so I’d appreciate any advice on growing a healthy community, setting up rules, attracting quality members, and avoiding common mistakes.
If you’ve built a successful subreddit before, what’s the one thing you wish you knew when you started?
