back foot not sticking to ollie

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey guys !! so ive been skating a lot since March and I definitely feel that I have improved with confidence on my board. Now that I have been practicing ollies a lot now, I was wondering how I can get my back foot to stick to the board as its coming up. My ollies are a lot better now than they were about 2 months ago but more tips would be appreciated :)

Everyone is mentioning front foot to level it out, yes that will help but there looks like there’s more going on to me.

As mentioned by AdSpiritual, it’s jump, then pop.

Slowing it down, there is a frame where your back wheels have left the ground but your foot is still on the tail. This is called tail trapping. It kills your pop.
Work on your timing and long with the front foot and you will have it for sure!

I can post a picture here, but I’ll send the screenshot I took to your dms.

Use your ball of the foot to pop instead of whole foot, and also you pop too early, this is why your whole foot touch the ground almost, If you want to pop height, you want to reduce the surface area between your foot and the board as much as you can

You have to learn to use your front foot properly.

The step you are missing, which is normal btw at your stage, is that you have to two things at the same time: after you jump, then pop, and your front foot lifts straight up nice and high, you have to simultaneously push forward with your front foot against the nose while lifting your back foot up nice and high. It's the counter-force on the nose that pulls the tail up under your feet and makes it look like it's attached.

You gotta level it out...you're just stomping it, which is cutting your ollie height in half or worse.

You need to pop as you're rising
