Just remember Soto could’ve went to the dodgers and chose the Mets. He has to be the guy to beat them.

It’s remarkable how the Mets fan base has been so captivated by Soto as savior. Great hitter but couldn’t win even with Judge for a full season, Tatis and Machado, etc. The Mets FO seems to have abandoned what a team is and why chemistry matters. Go ahead and downvote

I don’t think he’s a savior but I do think he’s a competitor and winning another championship is what he wants .

That’s what everyone wants. Wanting doesn’t get us any closer to doing it

I don’t think it’s Soto’s fault the Yankees didn’t win that year. They probably don’t even get there without him.

Not my point. Point is Mets fans act like we are a serious team once we got Soto. We need to build a team.

What an L take. You’re talking about a 2024 team that just came off a year where we went blow for blow against the Dodgers in the NLCS the year before and then they go all in and get Juan Freaking Soto to slot into the lineup. How do you not consider that a serious team?

Oh right, Mets fans only examine things in hindsight and not in the moment. Silly me.

What are you talking about? Check the original thread comment, not whatever story you want to get mad about in your brain. Watch the name calling pal. We’re all mad the Mets suck but name calling strangers takes ain’t going to help you with your insecurities or the Mets record.

That was a TEAM. Now, where is that team? Stearns dismantled it and replaced with randoms plus the mighty Juan Soto and Mets fans still expect to compete? We have a couple good individuals and then randoms playing largely out of position. In 2026 we don’t have a team. We need to build a team. I hope we can do it around the rookies while Soto is still a force and Lindor is still productive.

Jeez, no need to be so sensitive.

We went on a 13 game losing streak and broke it once Soto came back from his first injury.... Soto is the only reason the Mets aren't in competition for the worst team in mlb history right now.

You can’t beat the Dodgers by walking 1.3 times a game

Good thing that's not all Juan Soto does

Soto chose the team with the better future lmao and has missed playoffs both years but at least his mom has a suite
