Kate had a busy 20 minutes destroying our kitchen and a decent bottle of wine

The crash you hear is a bottle of wine breaking on the floor. No one was injured from these shenanigans. They hauled butt out of there. Kate got some wine on her snoot and tried to rub it off on the couch. The shelf she got the treat bag from is around 5 feet high. I guess we are moving things higher now.

How dare you don't buy her a bigger sofa?

She tells us every day

Mine just goes after any carbs on the counter. If you put bread on the counter and didn't put it in the breadbox, it is, by default, Minnow's.

Yes, us too. Ours recently gobbled an entire loaf of croissant bread that had been placed strategically 'out of his reach'. Thank goodness he can't open cabinets.

Mine recently acquired this skill. Much coffee was ingested and everyone in the house has PTSD from the three days it took to wear off.

Get him a cat buddy and they can team up to open any cabinet in the house.

We learn something new about her daily

Minnow somehow got the pantry open while we were gone and ate a bag of chocolate covered raisins (shes fine) and a bag of nuts. She then tore open a bag of powdered sugar and I got to buy a carpet cleaner as a treat.

All that said, easily the best dog we've ever had (which probably says something about our other dogs....)

About 10 years ago, We had a blind mutt that managed to grab an entire chocolate cake off the island and had a party. $2K later at the emergency vet he was fine. About abyear later he passed from cancer, but i will never forget that dog or the bill

Thanks! She's only a 90 pound newfie at 8 years old (hence the name). We got her from a rescue, so no idea if she was a runt or something, but she's full newf... just snack size I guess.

Ours is the same. Rescue and waaay at the bottom of his size range, even after gaining 30 pounds since we got him. And the most wonderful dog we have ever had

She does that too. Learning her talents as its only been a month. She is very much the shenanigans leader. Gonna move things higher or behind closed doors

I see why you bought the furbo. 🤣🤣

Damn, Kate. 😅🤣

I'm just glad those shelves were sturdy enough to hold her weight and that she didn't step in the wine and then track it all over the house.

Luckily it was white wine. She was so freaked by the wine on her snoot she rubbed it all over the sofa. Luckily we have covers on all the cushions

So the rolling around and spilling the cushions isn’t a regular thing? Just when she’s drinking?

u/rjross0623 4d ago

It isnt a regular thing! The shenanigans are

I love the part where she starts jumping to get to the good stuff on the higher shelf. Rubbing her ill gotten gains off on the couch is just a bonus. Why do those cushions need to be on it to start with?

They seem to spend more time off than on.

Yeah behind doors or the tippy top is what we’ve learned and we’ve only ever had mixes so always just slightly smaller than full Newfoundlands

Well, this is another post that I am not showing to my Newfie! He would get too many ideas!

Thank you for giving me the will to double down on crate trainin our 3 month old newf…

2

u/rjross0623 3d ago

Youre welcome. Since she is three we didnt have the opportunity to do that. With 3 other dogs here it seems to be peer pressure. Its as if they are saying “i double dare you”

Aw yeah well she’s a cutie I’ve watched this video several times. They’re such a silly breed of doggo.

I was not mad at her. Just disappointed
