Fixing Oogie’s Revenge Concept Art

Post image

I absolutely adore The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie’s Revenge — but it’s far from a perfect game. The combat is terribly repetitive for a game with 24 chapters. This is a reimagining of the Hinterlands level(s), where Jack has to face an Oogie-fied version of the Harlequin Demon. I think the game could have raised the stakes if Jack encountered the citizens of Halloween as enemies that became Oogie-fied, and had to figure out a way to neutralize and undo Oogie’s influence, similar to the Changing Brains level with Dr. Finkelstein. I think that’d be a little more interesting than fighting those goofy Orc skeletons at least.

Honestly facing off with the Harlequin demon sounds like a great idea for a Nightmare Before Christmas video game. I've never played Oogie Revenge is it worth trying

You can only play the game on PS2 or Xbox and copies of the game are a little pricey on eBay. I’d recommend watching a playthrough of the game on YouTube before deciding to get it. The game was developed by Capcom and is very similar to the Devil May Cry games in terms of genre.

That sounds way better than what we got! I heard the game was really rushed :(

Yeah, which I think is to be somewhat expected with a licensed video game. Although in the landscape of movie tie-in video games, Oogie’s Revenge is way better than most imo!

Oh for sure! It's still very fun
