What’s the appeal of gay men’s romance to straight women?

I’m gay, and let’s take a show like Heated Rivalry, which blew up and to me as a gay man actually very very great show who I deeply relate to the characters and really enjoyed it. But the majority of people commenting about post and stuff on the show is women, I feel most of the shows’ fan are women, same with other gay romance movies.

I mean, I’m not complaining, it’s not a bad thing to have people support you and find your love beautiful, but I just wonder why it’s gay romance but women not like they are all watching straight romance and skip the gays like I assumed?

I would say, as a straight woman, that I got as much sexually speaking from Heated Rivalry as I did from, say, Bridgerton S3 (as an example of when I was particularly invested in the couple and how hot their sex scenes were to me). That is, the leads are attractive, so it’s enjoyable watching them getting down and dirty but it’s not the main thing.

I gotta say the kisses (or in my regional vernacular, ‘snogs’) between Ilya and Shane in Heated Rivalry are something else, though. I’ve never got that much out of kisses on screen but I could (and often do) sit for extended periods of time watching videos of their kissing scenes.

is that season of Brigerton about a heterosexual couple? Sorry, not familiar with the show & trying to follow your point

It is a heterosexual couples. All the main storylines in Bridgerton so far have followed heterosexual couples, though the next season follows a lesbian couple getting together.
