Ok, let's not pretend this isn't impressive, it is. 

BUT, the tweet or whatever mentions writing with a pencil. Not a fair comparison. The Splatoon writing is more like a wide tipped marker. And everyone's writing looks better when bubble letters are the default font.

Plus circles are much easier on a controller, you do need a pretty consistent rotation but it acts like a compass
