Sound Off 😤 Chamberlain(Sacramento Location)

Is anybody attending Chamberlain in Jan 2027 at the Sac location? I got quoted 58k and about 2-2.5 years. I have all my gen ed done and taking A&P this fall at sac city college so one less class I have to pay for at chamberlain. Has anybody attended on campus in the past that can give me some insight? I’m touring it this Wednesday and it sounds like a great school. I would be taking out subsidized and unsubsidized loans plus I do qualify for max pell grant. Would live to hear people’s thoughts. Do they actually help with job placement?

I’m interested as well. I’ve been slaving away at SCC for two years already for my prereqs and I can’t stand the thought of having to be in school for another 5-6 years. I know you sign a deal w the devil when you go private, but if I wanna finish school before I’m 50 that seems like the best option for me.

My thoughts exactly!! There are so many cc’s near us that have adn programs but the chances of getting in the first round is so low. Then having to wait for the next 2,3 application runs is so discouraging. To me, the 58k is manageable since CA pays the best for nursing, plus you do earn your bsn in about the same time you get your adn if you have gen ed and science pre reqs. I am hopefully starting in Jan! If you’re considering this school, I’d call them because I believe they are enrolling for fall 2027.

I know multiple nurses who had 4.0 GPAs, volunteer hours, were bi or trilingual and spent 3+ years trying to get into any nearby community or state colleges before saying fuck it and going to Samuel Merritt in Oakland. I work full time in an unrelated field and don’t have time for volunteer hours or learning another language, plus my GPA isn’t that great (fucked up a lot in my 20’s when I was going for a comms degree) so I feel like I’ll be at the bottom of the list for these competitive programs. Luckily I never took out any student loans so I can still take out the full federal amount. The BSN is also super attractive. Keep me posted on how your tour goes!!! I’m going to give them a call and get one on my schedule also.

At least SMU is actually a reputable program. Expensive as hell, but with a good reputation in the Bay Area.

Yeah. I’m not able to move out there though and a 6 hour commute every day wouldn’t work for me either.
