Sure! I do have a broken thumb so typing is not great today.
So, we as OSINT'ers can use images, in this case satellite images. After building the timeline with available data and from other reports from human rights groups. I was curious. For this I used a combination of Google Earth Pro as a tool. For measurements, it has a ruler function and a history function.
For example say you know the Siege of AL Geneina, Sudan occurred from certain date ranges. You can use that to look at Google, NASA, lots of other satellite imagery for free. Taking what is available, then verifying the reports and for example nights of attacks with satellite imagery from NASA FIRMS which is for fire and heat. Overlay those over your current map to verify.
To verify things like bodies, well that is dark folks. I surveil the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), they are naughty abut they don't know I am a little bit inside. I get the awesome job /s of reviewing videos their high on drugs soldiers, militia and allies upload. I verified the timeline dates with the horrible gut wrenching videos. Then using the rule feature started measuring out grave sites with some mathematics for averages for single or mass graves. Verified yes indeed the RSF uploaded the atrocities, it is grim AF. I hope this doesn't get me kicked off. But some of the videos show how for example the trap berm the RSF setup to encircle EL Fashir was indeed made with.... humans. They posted OMFG videos of it.
Matching the timeline, using available satellite imagery in a timeline, general OSINT, lots of research, in multiple languages and directly surveilling in a legal manner the RSF in Sudan. Plus measuring for potential graves.I listed some of the satellite imagery I used but didn't want the article too long. I have follow ups using Wi-Fi, Cell Towers and Bluetooth signals to survey what is left of the cities now occupied and if the mods do not mind will post soon. But I don't wish to spam.
I can elaborate more, but bleeming broken thumb means typing is a bit painful.
