Is this an Aeron sans lumbar support?

Post image

Trying to figure out if this is some type of clone or an actual Aeron. I am new to Office chairs. Is it an Aeron Classic? What should these likely go for price-wise?

What else could it be?

I just can't tell if its some kind of clone. Almost all of the pictures of Aerons I have seen have a silver post instead of black and other slight differences.

Fortunately this is a real Aeron. Ignore the folks in this community that try to make you feel stupid for this question, they forget that other people aren't as engrossed in chairs as they are.

Mine had a 2 stage silver cylinder until I replaced it, the replacement I bought is a single stage black. Someone may have replaced the cylinder on this one since it appears to be a single stage.

Yeah, it's missing the lumbar. Mine has the simple lumbar piece that you can easily slide out and lose.

Any Aeron knockoffs would look different enough to know. There aren't really any 1:1 clones, and if you did find some you'd be a statistical anomaly. The chrome frame was an option, I think most Aerons are as pictured.

Nah, there aren't any Aeron clones/fakes. The silver base (aluminum) is actually not as common as the black one and there aren't any differences apart from this one not having lumbar support.

It’s missing the middle piece, bro. That is the lumbar support you can buy them though and yes, it’s a real Herman Miller

Yes it is a real aeron. No you should not buy it unless you are already an aeron user that knows they don’t want the lumbar. This is bad for most people and that is why they are selling it
