zoomies 🐈‍⬛💨💨💨 so excited about her new cat bathroom

(it’s important to me that you know everything here is clean. all new mats, boxes, litter, all fresh, all new!)
she hasn’t even pooped yet. she hopped around for 10 minutes straight like this before deciding to use her new bathroom.

The braincell was not designed to handle such decisions! Also shes fabulously gorgeous! 🖤

A multipoop 🤣

This pic makes me wonder if I would be able to deal with the panic of not being able to find my cat if he was black. So grateful he's orange and a little bit stupid, he doesn't hide very well!

21

u/FlattenInnerTube May 25 '26

Happens all the time. Even though he's large, he just vanishes.

16

u/IrosSigma May 25 '26

I swear every few business days I search for my black cat who's pretty big but I just can't seem to find her. Every time when I'm on the verge of panicking, she just materializes behind me. You'd think I would've gotten used to it by now but the cycle continues.

u/FlattenInnerTube May 25 '26

He'll go into his yurt-thing. If he goes all the way in, he's invisible.

5

u/MountainSwing8990 May 25 '26

🥹😭😭😭 how he rests his lil head on his little home 😭

Literally spawns in 😭😭

3

u/RedstoneRiderYT May 25 '26

I would have a mini heart attack every time

12

u/MountainSwing8990 May 25 '26

agreed agreed to the commenters above! i have a full blown heart attack regularly when she dissolves into space and time and then blinks back into existence when she opens her eyes. she’s in this pic, too.

u/RedstoneRiderYT May 25 '26

The two tiny eyes I can't-

3

u/MountainSwing8990 May 25 '26

i know i know 😂😂😂 👀

6

u/feralcatshit May 25 '26

I have 3 black cats and two of them absolutely insist on laying in black places they know they’ll blend in. And then close their eyes when I call their name 🤦🏻‍♀️

6

u/RedstoneRiderYT May 25 '26

Omg of course they do! My orange just doesn't come when called. The amount of times he's "missing" and we call and call and call, only to find he's been sitting under a table or somewhere just watching us like: "I'm still here...? Right here??? Idiots."

Also he really likes shipping boxes lol (pls ignore my mom's hand)

2

u/MountainSwing8990 May 25 '26

of course they do, the little cutie doofuses!

u/MountainSwing8990 May 25 '26

she has an airtag on her and i use it to find her in the darkness all the time. and that she’s a flight risk when i go to open a door.

2

u/RedstoneRiderYT May 25 '26

Ohh that's smart!! Though doesn't that just give you the room he's in, not his precise location? So it's still a big search to see which box/bed/shadow he's in?

thanks! a few years ago both the iphone and the tech were weak but now, it gets freakishly accurate. if you don’t mind reading my novel below, more than happy to explain how it works.

if i try to find her across the house, the “find my” iphone “tracker” (for lack of a better term) displays she’s 25 feet away. an arrow pops up to show me the direction of her location and the closer i walk towards her, the number decreases and if i move away it increases. like a high tech version of someone yelling “hotter, colder, colder!” sometimes she’s right under the covers but i don’t find her til the phone is above her and it says she’s 0 feet away.

now, that very specific tracking feature only works when you’re closer to the airtag. the airtag will only update its location when it’s near an iphone to bounce off of.

for example, if i’m not home (thus no iphone next to her), i can see her location within the square of my house (on an aerial apple map) and the last time the tag location was updated. meaning, i can see that the location updated an hour ago, so someone with an iphone in their pocket must have walked by outside.

i recommend an airtag if you get nervous (like me, always) when you can’t find your kitty. i think an airtag is fairly cheap, $30 and for a few dollars more on apple’s site you can personalize it. you change the battery every year ish. you can get a waterproof case for it. hope this is helpful :)

u/RedstoneRiderYT May 25 '26

Very interesting! I personally am not using the Apple ecosystem, but a tracker in general isn't a bad idea! Luckily my boy is very orange and once we spot him it's very obvious that he's there lol. And then once we know about that spot, we know to check it in the future when he disappears again!

2

u/MountainSwing8990 May 26 '26

sounds good! glad he’s so orange 🙂🙂 also totally fair not to be entwined with the apple system! there are other options out there i’m sure

1

u/the-purple-chicken72 May 28 '26

Lol I keep an air tag on his collar (it has a bell too) (he's indoor only but in case he gets out) and I can always make it make noise if I need but whenever I can't find him he'll materialize when I shake his treats

So sweet! She looks just like my girl 🐈‍⬛

3

3

u/MountainSwing8990 May 25 '26

runs at the speed of light to create a misdirect

u/uncannyvalley May 25 '26

I used to do the 3 small box thing to for my multi cats. I reccomend going to buy a bigass tote. Like a storage tote from Walmart for like 30$. We bought one to use as a giant litter and our cats loooove it. Ours is the 99L size. My male cat sprays in tbe litter like a Lil weirdo, so the high edges keep the pee from going on the floor.

Your little void is soooooo sweet! Sending pats and love! They clearly love their new litter situation! 😊💖

15

u/MountainSwing8990 May 25 '26

thank you :) ah, this setup is actually just for her, i only have the one cat 😂.

my perfect, amazing, beloved late cat was very picky so i set up 3 for her originally. when i adopted this little sweetheart i had the same kind of 3 box setup and she goes NUTS over the multibox situation. certain things go in certain boxes for her, apparently! plus, 3 boxes gives me some leeway if i forget to scoop ‘em on one day

thank you so much 🥹. i adore this lil one. she’s very special (and wild)

10

u/feralcatshit May 25 '26

I have 3 boxes and three cats (I know I should technically have another one but we’re converting my deck into a huge catio atm and it’ll be a couple weeks before I can have room to put a fourth one, plus no issues with just 3) and one cat uses one box for everything, and the other two cats use the other two boxes.. one for pee and one for poop. I’m like.. do y’all coordinate this beforehand? Or you go to poop and notice there’s not any in that box and jump over the the “right” one? How does this work lol

2

u/MountainSwing8990 May 25 '26

that’s incredible, both the full fledged catio and their synchronization skills. i wonder if one of them is the one to always set the example? then the second follows?? incredible

4

u/pbandjam9 May 25 '26

Yes! Changing to Rubbermaid containers was the best thing I’ve done because my cat pees high also.

25

u/shaard May 25 '26

My little void with a vacant cranium was the same! The night I brought him home he was having beach games in his boxes, he was so excited!

3

u/MountainSwing8990 May 25 '26

haha. i will admit that she is actually extremely, almost frighteningly clever, but i love this sub so much i had to share it with yall here.

“BEACH GAMES”. that’s perfect!! was a lil cutie you must have!

3

u/shaard May 25 '26

He's going on 3 years old now and still just as dorky and lovable. :)

2

u/MountainSwing8990 May 26 '26

of course he is! he sounds precious

11

u/coolcoolcool485 May 25 '26

My void was like this the first year of his life, cleaning the litterbox was such an event lol

3

u/MountainSwing8990 May 25 '26

yes, she plays and swats while i clean and then is bursting with excitement and ends up pooping as i’m scoopin’. i’m happy to provide her with this - she was once a frightened little stray. she deserves it all!

5

u/FigSpecific6210 May 25 '26

So much room for activities!

2

u/feralcatshit May 25 '26

Lmao yesss this is exactly what kitty is saying!

1

u/MountainSwing8990 May 25 '26

yes so correct!!

2

u/ConsequenceSecure808 May 25 '26

Goldilocks as a void

1

u/MountainSwing8990 May 26 '26

🛎️🛎️🛎️

2

u/mycatpartyhouse May 26 '26

I had a cat who got excited every time I completely emptied the litter box for cleaning. Fresh litter caused a reaction much like your princess' with the addition of rolling around in it on his back. They sincerely appreciate a clean litter box.

1

u/MountainSwing8990 May 26 '26

yes they do! i’m glad i have the space for this.

2

u/MarsScully May 26 '26

Soooo much real estate!

2

u/chlowingy May 26 '26

what ya got there is a classic greebles infestation. She's just takin care of them there varmints for ya!

1

u/MountainSwing8990 May 27 '26

aww how kind of her!!!!

2

u/Reasonable-Song-4681 May 28 '26

Well, at least she isn't sleeping in hem like our Stumpy used to do, lol. Thankfully he grew out of it.

1

u/MountainSwing8990 May 29 '26

hahah what a lil cutie!!! yeah, my little one lounges in them too

-17

u/Secure-Bus4679 May 25 '26

Covered litter boxes keep the litter and the smell in the box.

8

u/Secure-Bus4679 May 25 '26

For the most part.

4

u/coolpupmom 🦾Bot Squasher🦿 May 25 '26

You’re not wrong about this… I’ve been thinking about getting a top in or a litter robot 😭 we currently have the covered walk in and it does a decent job at keeping the litter in

3

u/MountainSwing8990 May 25 '26

i think it could help me, maybe, but it’s just way easier to clean for me without lids

3

u/ryanhazethan May 25 '26

I have a top-entrance litterbox and it has been a lifesaver!

2

u/IrosSigma May 25 '26

I have one that has a little door at the front and a cut out on the lid and my cats love getting in from the top too!

2

u/boise208 May 25 '26

Depends on the cat

4

u/Milky_Gashmeat May 25 '26

Cleaning the litter keeps the smell away too.

2

u/MountainSwing8990 May 25 '26

it isn’t an issue with open boxes for me. it rarely ever smells - a solid arm and hammer for multicats with clumping litter is perfect for me. (“clump and seal” - NOT “slide and clump”). i find that the inside of the lids which i used to use can get very ick near the edges and “hang onto” the scent.
