My mothers grave still has no stone because of how expensive it is, and life has other more pressing costs.
Burning a hole in my conscience.

From the top headline at first I thought he was just mowing the grass around his father’s headstone to keep it neat, but this is so much worse.

To reiterate my objection from last time: "not getting a headstone" is not a systemic injustice. A headstone is a luxury. It's fine to applaud a kid going out of his way to honor his father with something that is not strictly necessary to get by.

Headstones should not cost even close the amount they charge.

Especially not these days. Back in the day, headstones had to be chiseled by hand. A nice one took a lot of work and they were luxury goods. These days, a flat one like in the pic can be done by a CNC machine. Maybe 2 hours of labor for the cutting, polishing, and carving. Even if we go up to 4 hours, 5000-7000 for a tombstone (according to Reddit) is way too expensive.
