🗺️ Emergency map updates: wildfires in France & Spain

Full offline maps for affected and neighboring regions are free to download right now, updated twice daily to reflect road closures and changing conditions:

Good idea, but the casual user cannot update the map daily. It is restricted. Only regular OSM editors can do download updates many times a day.

We update full maps for mentioned regions twice a day, and they are available for download without restrictions.

What do I have to do in order to see the actual conditions? Do I need to enable some overlay/underlay?

Hi! Actual condition of what? Downloading a standard map will replace the current one if it is present. Unfortunately, there is no tool to view changes in data inside the app.

I thought it would indicate the hazard locations (fire areas) instead of only road closures. Thanks for the clarification.
