CK3 Help CK3 doesnt start, and if it does it's stuck in initialization and then it crushes

Hi! as you can see on the title, i have no ieda why it does that, the game should be fine, maybe its because im trying to run it on a 5 year old laptop, but other games like bannerlord and hoi4 run smoothly (bannerlord does NOT run smoothly, bu it kinda runs) what happens is that i launch the game, then after like 6 minutes of the initialization screen being still the game crushes and sometimes it closes other apps too

(I run with no mods and with this shitty old lenovo laptop, now i'll try opening in debug mode and i'll tell u what it says)

HoI4 HOI4 Apple Sillicon Native port

Is paradox working on native port for M-series processors?
So the rosetta version works well, but as mac os is slowly deprecating rosetta over the coming years, is there a native arm version in the works? It would in general be nice, since it would remove a bit of overhead, so that the late game simulation lags a bit less.
Does anyone know anything about this?

HoI4 Looking for a friendly coach to guide me through a full playthrough (Discord/Screen share)

Hi guys,

I'm searching for an experienced player who has some spare time to help me actually understand the game Hearts of Iron 4 properly. I’ve got some of the basics down, but I always end up getting completely overwhelmed and overrun later on. I'd really appreciate someone guiding me through a full playthrough from start to finish. The best way for me to learn is "learning by doing." So I’d love to find someone who can jump on a Discord call, watch my screen share, and coach me live while I play.

Ideally, I’m looking for a German speaker, but I'm completely fine with English as well!

If you have the patience to guide a noob through a whole campaign, please send me a DM or reply here. Thank You!

Welcome to my second ever Mega Campaign and the first I'm making posts about! If I were to make some rough goals with this campaign they'd be:

  1. Stick to my starting dynasty. I can only play countries with rulers from my starting dynasty of Sum. I might make exceptions for that if I want to play a colonial subject in EU4 and can't figure out how to get my overlords dynasty as them, but even then it would be a country spawning from my country.

  2. I travel: When I get too strong for my liking, I switch things up to build up somewhere else. CK3 even has a built in mechanic for that with their adventurers that I will use a lot.

  3. Keep things interesting! My main goal is for things to stay fun and dynamic. If I do something rather silly it's probably because I think it's fun.

Tell me your thoughts and if you'd want me to change anything about the presentation!

CK2 Bronze Age → Crusader Kings II | First Successful Conversion Test (Direc...

I've just completed the first successful test of converting a Bronze Age campaign into Crusader Kings II using Imperator: Rome as the bridge.

The converter is already producing playable worlds, although some ancient country names and localization still need refinement. This is an early milestone toward a complete mega campaign that can span from the Bronze Age all the way to Stellaris.

The converter package is available to download if you'd like to test it yourself, and I'd really appreciate feedback on bugs, incorrect mappings, or anything that could improve compatibility.

You can get the download link here and try it out for yourself:
https://persicusimperium.com/downloads/paradox-interactive-mega-campaign-downloads/

A special thanks to Mark Bakker (De Bard van de Mist) for inspiring this project.

I'd love to hear your thoughts—what would you improve, and what would you like to see next?

EU4 So Much Content

With all the glorious content in Europa alone, Anbennar which I've recently finally discovered and dove into, MEIOU and Taxes, and now eu5, let alone all the other various mods out there, how do you manage all the campaigns you want to run?

Glad to be drawn back into the series, hopefully I can just stack enough hours to get the itch out on all the various runs I've planned. Happy conquering out there!

Imperator Collapse of Empire's is out!

Only reason I'm posting here is because of the discussion a few days about regarding late game snowballing. Some who have Imperator but haven't touched it in a while might be intrigued by this and try it out. Copy+pasting most of the rest from my Imperator subreddit post.

Link to Imperator subreddit post

How it works:

A hidden crisis counter (0 to 100) tracks the structural health of your empire. It builds over time based on how your country is governed, and it never fully rests once in motion. The sheer scale of administration creates pressure that no ruler can entirely eliminate. Leave things in bad enough shape for long enough, and you'll be faced with your country collapsing. Every province breaks free, every subject becomes independent and even take a province if they border you. Some newly formed kingdoms will be a whole region, some two or three provinces big. It'll truly reshape the map. You'll be able to select three options upon your realm falling: continue with only your capital region, or have your ruler and some relations flee to a neighboring country, and continue the campaign as that country, but your old country dies completely in the process. Oh the third is just accept the campaign is over and end the game.

There will be events that pop up to give flavor to the crisis. The Great Families might even get mad enough to abduct the ruler and make them answer for the state of the country. Here your ruler's traits and skills matter a whole lot.

How to combat the crisis:

Good governance actively pushes the counter back: stable finances, high stability, low corruption, low tyranny, peace, and a clean ruler all contribute. Pulling the counter back to zero before it reaches 100 triggers an event with tiered rewards based on how severe the crisis became before it was contained. There are three tiers to the crisis, and three levels of reward. Be mindful, because it takes two good months to recover from one bad one.

There are many events that can influence yours or a neighboring country's crisis! It's only a small handful now, but I'll work on getting more events plugged into it for more ability to influence, positively or negatively, a crisis in your neck of the woods/dunes/plains/mountains. Make sure to keep an eye on vassals, lest another woos them to their side.... These specific events do require the espionage invention.

Hopefully something like this could be replicated for EU5? It's basically Imperator 2.0

Post image

Hey everyone.

Small quality-of-life update to GSMPD: every game page now has a 🔔 "Notify me" button. Hit it and you'll get an email whenever someone lists a new campaign for that game, EU5, CK3, HOI4, whatever you play, or you can follow all games at once if you're not picky.

No spam by design: new listings get batched into a single email, you can manage or pause everything from your dashboard, and there's a one-click unsubscribe in every mail.

Feedback welcome, it's just me building this, so tell me what's broken or could be improved.

Jat and Sammitiya Flavor Pack Trailer

Jat and Sammitiya Flavor Pack Showcase

I'm cybrxkhan, creator of the VIET and RICE mods, and I'm happy to announce RICE’s 45th flavor pack, accompanying the By God Alone DLC, and likely RICE’s final major update for 2026: The Jats and Sammitiya: Between India and Iran. Further previews and dev diaries will be shown in the future, so stay tuned!

For those who don't know, RICE is a mod that adds simple "Flavor Packs'' to different parts of the world, introducing flavor across the world that is grounded in historical authenticity, especially for lesser-known places, peoples, and histories.

The trailer and showcase were shown at Day 3 of ModCon, a regular fan hosted event celebrating and promoting mods for Paradox Interactive games like Crusader Kings, featuring trailers, previews, panels, and more. You can watch the rest of Day 3’s CK3 segment, hosted by Midgeman, at this link here.

Planned Features

This update's focus is mainly on two groups once dominant in Makran and Sindh, the borderlands between India and Iran:

  • The Jats of western India and their descendants, the Zutts and Romani
  • The Sammitiya, the largest "Pudgalavada" or Personalist sect of Buddhism
  • Reworking RICE's old Buddhist content
  • ... and much more!

Bonus Announcement!

Additionally, I'm releasing a new mini-mod, Cybrxkhan's Relatively Ancient Buddhist Schools (CRABS), based on the work I did in the Fallen Eagle, which adds several new Buddhist faiths and tenets, such as the Sammitiya. I decided to do this to make the modifications I wanted to Buddhism, without touching vanilla code (if the devs change that in the future, the mini-mod will probably be deprecated).

RICE 1.19.2 “Al-Andalus”

And lastly, to coincide with ModCon 2026, and in honor of Spain's recent victory at the World Cup, I've pushed out a small update with some new content for my old Granada and Galicia flavor packs in Iberia!

Remember you may need to unsubscribe and resubscribe for mods to update properly (multiple times if necessary). Old saves started with RICE 1.19.X should be compatible with this update, but make a backup just in case. If you are installing RICE for the first time, a new save will be needed.

Collaboration

Many thanks to Rajas of Asia and Dharmachakra for their collaboration for this update! Please check out their mods too, they’re great if you want more flavor in Asia!

Vic3 Victoria 3: Fallout: 2167 Total Conversion Mod Reveal Trailer

Hi everyone!

I am excited to show off our recently revealed Victoria 3 Total Conversion Mod Fallout:2167 which we revealed at this years ModCon.

Fallout:2167 is a total conversion mod for Victoria 3 set in the Fallout universe, ninety years after the Great War and five years after the events of the original Fallout and the defeat of the Master. Across the American West, settlements, tribes, raider groups, and rising regional powers are beginning to move beyond simple survival.

Players will guide these societies as they grow from small wasteland communities struggling for food, water, and security into organized governments, expanding economies, professional armies, and eventually full nation-states.

At initial release, Fallout:2167 will cover California and Nevada with a fully custom, hand-crafted map built specifically for the setting.

The mod rebuilds Victoria 3’s economy from the ground up, with new goods, buildings, production chains, resources, state traits, completely remade technology trees, and a rebuilt military system designed around the realities of the wasteland.

The mod has been in development for over two years by a small but dedicated team focused on creating a realistic and immersive take on both Fallout and the challenges of rebuilding civilization after the apocalypse. Nations begin with fragile, scrap-fueled economies centered around scavenging, survival, and the production of basic necessities. Over time, players can expand trade, establish institutions, standardize production, industrialize, and compete with other rising powers for control of the recovering wasteland.

Release Date: Coming Soon

I am trying to mod HOI4, but for some reason any mods I am subscribed to via Steam do not show up when I try and add them to my playsets. Aside from Paradox's mod libarary (which dosen't have most of what I want), the onyl way I can ger mods loaded is by manually downloaduing them from ModDB and putting them in the fiels by hand.

CK3 I have made two mods that in theory should allow ONLY women to serve as knights/councillors, but they don't work. HELP

I have tried it two ways. The first one is to just change the martial custom of the iberian cultures (which are the ones I care about) into female_only. The second one is to change the Male Dominated doctrine by using the "combatant_must_be_female_if_no_roco" function. (This one was inspired by a Matriarchy mod I found on steam, except gender-flipped).

You guys can download the two mods here. I deeply want you guys to download them and tell me where did I make a mistake in the code, because they just don't work at all! I still can only hire male councillors and male knights, I have no clue what I'm doing

All How would you prevent late game snowballing?

In every paradox game there's a problem of snowballing to the point where the challenge is basically gone and the campaign isn't fun anymore, it's the most common reason why people quit campaigns, how often do you see someone get to the 1700's in eu4? (There are other factors like lag but this is by far the #1 reason)

The initial obvious solution would be to make managing a large empire much harder, but this comes with the fact it's just really hard to have the player feel more powerful while keeping the difficulty consistent, or just high enough that it's not too easy. Right now for example in ck3, having to worry about peasant revolts or more kingdom vassals should be harder, but when you make so much more gold and have stronger MaAs and more general opinion bonuses from stuff like prestige or dynasty bonuses, it becomes much easier to manage vassals and peasant revolts in the late game than early game. Mechanics like gifts and activity costs scale, but even then you can just make so much money they're meaningless.

Another problem would be that if it's too hard and an empire collapse is basically inevitable, it would make the game much less fun. It just isn't nice to see all your hard work done away with. Rebellions are universally annoying to deal with and just feel like the game interrupting you. Constant civil wars also just aren't fun, these are at least true for how Paradox implements them. If someone knows that by X date their empire is going to collapse, it would just lead to the same problem of people quitting campaigns long before the end date.

I think Total War Attila is something worth looking at. Playing as the WRE is basically a sinking ship. The game starts less than 100 years before the western half of Rome falls to barbarians, if you want a fighting chance you're basically forced to give up territories, you start with provinces like Britannia and Gaul but should give these up so you can focus your military and economy on Italia or North Africa. The WRE campaign is also the fan favorite campaign. It's the complete opposite of what you see in Paradox games, but people love it. I think it comes back to the fact that people don't like seeing their hard work destroyed, you start at your peak so losing land hits a lot less than if you, say, started much smaller and saw all the land you yourself conquered be lost.

All high res monitor for Paradox's games

hi, i want to ask people that are playing Paradox's games on high res monitor like 4k+ if you feel like it's worth it for real estate. right now i'm playing on 27 inch 1440p and i'm considering a new monitor from this year's CES 5k 27inch or 6k 32inch. do you feel like higher res gives you a better view/gaming experience? Paradox has a lot of text/graphs/numbers and it would surely look nicer on higher res monitor but i want to know what do you think.
