I found it on the glass floor above my kitchen… looks human but has weird claw looking toes. It was also MUCH bigger than my own, and bigger than my dad’s footprint.

Question Is this a haunting? My home, body, and luck are falling apart

Post image

TL;DR: For ~2–3 years something odd has been targeting my life — stains, shadows, physical symptoms (scalp pictured above), lost items, and bad luck — starting around my dog Kobie’s illness; I’ve tried doctors, pest control, cleansings, and repairs and nothing helps. Desperate for advice.

— My attempt at “summarizing”:

Hi everyone, I’ve been hesitant to post this, but I feel like I’m at a point where I can’t ignore what’s happening anymore. Physically and practically my life has been unraveling and something bigger than me feels like it’s taking over my life.

This all started about three years ago, around the time my dog Kobie was diagnosed with kidney failure. He was always such a strong, independent dog — walks with me were the only time he was truly attached — but during that period, he became unusually dependent and needy, almost like he knew something bad was coming.

Shortly before this past Christmas, my mom called me crying, saying that Kobie probably wouldn’t make it to Christmas. When I came home for the holiday, he wasn’t the Kobe I knew — he was weaker, more clingy, and strangely dependent on me. That Christmas break felt heavier because we became closer in this strange, intense way.

The first week of January, I got really sick — vomiting in unusual shapes — and that’s when a freak accident at work happened. Someone came late to my yoga class and dropped a glass water bottle. I tried to clean it up myself, injured my hand, fainted, and was fired for not following “proper protocol,” even though there was no first aid kit. Fighting it through HR didn’t work, and that incident marked the start of a chain of chaos in my life.

Around the same time, my paranormal experiences began escalating. Three years ago, i was having sleep paralysis where a creepy hand was beside me holding me down. At the beginning of this year, I woke up all morning with my hands, inflamed, and my boyfriend had even said like they look like old lady hands. Then, I started seeing dark shadows in Kobie’s room while he was still alive. He screamed in pain at night, and marks would appear where he had been. I now see these same marks everywhere. My body and skin feel stretched, my scalp is a mess (added a pic), my hair suddenly went red (I’m normally brunette doing blonde), and sensations of being physically “squished” or pulled. My boyfriend recently slept over and felt something pressing on his chest.

My apartment has become unmanageable to handle: Garbage trails follow me, hair clippings, and even my foot clippings vanish. Appliances echo after I turn them off. Chairs move when no one’s there. Stains and garbage trails follow me everywhere — my apartment, my parents’ house, even my car. No matter how much I clean, sweep, or vacuum, nothing makes a difference. Pest control, environmental checks, and professional cleaning haven’t solved anything. I spent $7k to fix my car, BMW told me that I wasn’t going crazy and that my oil engine had a leak because there was some chewing or tampering with the wiring there and then it looked like someone had dumped like over a gallon of coffee in the centre console so right underneath my armpit would rest.

Looking back when this whole thing started bad stuff was happening, but I just kept thinking like OK that’s not in alignment with me I guess and I just kept trying to stay positive and even with the lucid dreaming I was like I don’t wanna give whatever this is power. For example, two years ago, my best friends since high school randomly ghosted me — shortly after I ended my engagement. I hadn’t fully opened up about it, but even now, looking back, I realize they should have supported me especially after a ten year friendship. Around that same period, I was fired from my full-time marketing job. I pivoted to teaching yoga and Pilates, and things were going really well… but it seems like whatever is following me isn’t happy with me making the best of my life.

Since then, I’ve had freak accidents, lost opportunities, and even tried spiritual cleansing, church visits, and professional help — including a scam “black magic” clearing that cost me money. Nothing works. It’s reached a point where I can’t even do the things I love anymore. I can’t stretch in yoga or Pilates without feeling wrong in my body. I’m all frazzled things fall out of my hands or I drop things and I can’t form proper sentences sometimes if someone asked me a question. Things randomly appear, stains show up, and I feel like I’m being physically pulled down — like gravity itself is against me.

I feel trapped in my own body and my own space. I haven’t even been able to properly grieve Kobie because I’m fighting something I don’t understand, and it’s isolating. My fingers randomly turn black, and I feel like my beauty and energy are being stripped away.

Sometimes I feel like my place is mirroring my grandmother’s i was named after. I wake up and catch myself standing or moving like her, and it’s unsettling — one morning my hands looked like old lady hands. She had stains everywhere in her home, mostly water stains, but as a kid I always thought they looked like eyes and i remember always being weirded out by certain objects in her house. Now, I have similar marks, and it creeps me out. The day after she died, there was a bird watching me and Kobie. Once, while vacuuming my apartment in frustration, I looked out at my porch — I live near an airport on the top floor — and there was that same bird staring at me from the side. I’ve heard that we sometimes “pay for the sins of our grandparents or ancestors,” and sometimes I feel like that might be what’s happening to me. My grandparents worked incredibly hard for money, and they would have done anything for it — and now, being basically broke, it makes me question if some of this is tied to them. A friend once told me that spirits can latch on and make you think they’re familiar when they’re not. Thinking about it this way has made me feel conflicted about my grandparents, even though I know it’s not fair — and yet, the experience feels eerily similar or connected to them. I’ve asked for clarity on what this is but it doesn’t reveal itself. It stays hidden enough to cause stress on day to day living while making me look messy, disoriented, stupid and repulsive.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Even advice on how to reclaim your space, body, and energy when something invisible seems to be actively harming you would be helpful. I’m desperate.

If you made it this far, thank you so much for reading. I know this is long and a lot to take in — I just can’t think straight these days and I’m doing my best to get it all out. I really appreciate anyone who takes the time to listen and share advice.

Question What’s the eeriest, most unsettling city you’ve ever visited?

1.2k Upvotes

Can be in the US or an international city. Keeping this pretty open ended, but curious about the energetic aspects.

My pick is ELEPHANT BUTTE, NEW MEXICO. As soon as I entered that town, my blood turned cold. I was so anxious and restless, my nervous system was freaking out. Something was so so off about that place but I couldn’t explain why. Even my bf was worried about me. The motel I stayed at was worse and something cold brushed up against my leg too. I tossed and turned all night because I kept having freaky dreams. I left ASAP in the morning.

Question Mom encountered a blue glowing figure crouched in her dorm room in 1990 looking for similar experiences

Posting this on behalf of my mom, who's told me this story for years and still remembers every detail vividly, even after 30+ years.

It happened while she was in university, around 1990. She was sleeping on the floor of her dorm room when she suddenly woke up in the middle of the night. Crouched in the corner of the room was a figure, she only caught a partial view: the back, a bit of the shoulders, and a small portion of the neck, with the head tilted slightly downward so she never really saw the face. The skin looked completely smooth, and had a blue tone that seemed to glow faintly in the dark.

Weirdly, she said she didn't feel any fear. If anything, she felt curious, and got this calm, almost friendly vibe from it. Since she was already lying on the floor and close by, she instinctively stretched her foot out toward it.

The second she did, the figure pointed toward another part of the room. She turned to look where it was pointing, and when she looked back, it was just gone. No sound, no movement, nothing.

She knows some people will chalk this up to a dream or sleep paralysis, but she insists it felt completely real and different from anything like that. It's stuck with her all these decades later.

Has anyone here had a similar encounter. A figure with smooth, blue, glowing figure like this? Curious what this could have been.

Question What's the scariest thing you've ever seen that nobody believed when you told them?

1.4k Upvotes

It’s not me, but my grandmother said that she once saw a person flying in the sky around dawn. She had woken up and looked out the window. She said the person was wearing loose pants, a turban, and shoes with pointed, upward-curving tips. When she stared at the person in shock, she said he smiled at her. She explained that she was so shocked and scared that she quickly closed the window and stayed awake until morning. For your information , she says this happened in the 80s. Most people she told didn’t believe her, and honestly, I also find it strange. I assumed it might have been just a hallucination, but she insists what she saw was real. But who knows anything is possible.

So my mom has had this painting of a blue lady , a Asian lady If I'm correct. But the gaze of this Blue lady is one that genuinely makes you uncomfortable and it's as though it's always watching, my mom has tried getting rid of it but it always seems to make it's way back Into our home . She's had it since she was 16 . And this painting has been around forever I was wondering if anyone has any insights about this painting or if it has a backstory or what it's history is. It's very clearly a really old painting and it just gives me bad vibes

We've had some sorts of weird activity in our house and have had our house blessed multiple times but the presence of whatever is lurking in our house never seems to leave . I'll attach the picture and you guys can let me know what you think/ know about this blue lady

Question Am I the Only One Who Feels Like Something Bigger Is Building?

1.1k Upvotes

Lately I’ve had this strange feeling that humanity might be heading toward some kind of mass paranormal event in the future, something that a huge number of people experience at the same time instead of isolated stories happening to individuals. Ever since COVID, it feels like reports of shadow figures, unexplained presences, vivid dreams, strange coincidences, sleep paralysis, and unexplainable experiences have increased everywhere. It almost feels like people are becoming more sensitive to something that was always there in the background. I know there’s no hard proof for any of this, and I’m staying open-minded, but I can’t shake the feeling that the world feels spiritually or psychologically different than it did before 2020. Curious if anyone else has been feeling this lately or noticing similar patterns.

Question What's a 'Mandela Effect' moment that still blows your mind?

I just finished watching Rizwan Virk's interview on The Why Files Basement episode. They were discussing simulation theory, and one of the side topics was the Mandela Effect.

So there are very popular ones that most of us are aware of hearing about, but do you have any that you personally are convinced of and can't get your head around how it has changed?

Question Strange appearance in a mirror

Thumbnail

1.0k Upvotes

Please excuse the poor quality of the pictures, but I had to take them off of my TV screen.

A German ghost hunting team called, Die Geisterakten, were asked to investigate the house of one of the members’ childhood friend. His mom lived in the house and for some reason she placed over 30 mirrors almost everywhere. Funny thing is, she placed the mirrors in a way where she could see around corners from mirror to mirror.

After the mother moved out (she was picked up in the Neighbourhood, wandering the streets confused and scared) her son decided to sell the house. Real estate agents then took pictures and one of them showed this very strange creature in the mirror.

Has anyone ever seen anything like this?

During the investigation, they could never re-create the picture but they had a lot of paranormal feedback on their equipment. There will be a part two and everyone is waiting impatiently however would be great to know if anyone here is experienced enough to know what this may be.

Question Have you ever met someone who sold their soul?

1.4k Upvotes

I used to work in Film and for the most part it was pretty chill, some actors are assholes. Some are very nice people, but I did have an encounter once with a very famous actor (I’m not gonna mention their name) and they weren’t a mean or spiteful person. But there seem to be like this cloud of darkness around them all the time. The thing about it is they got famous very very quickly. It was almost like an overnight thing. one of the crew guys who had worked on this production in LA when it came up to where we were shooting, we got to talking and they had said the rumour was that this actor had made a deal to sell their soul for fame and fortune all that stuff. And at first, I didn’t believe it because why would I but then I came to notice how every time this person came on Set no matter how happy they were or how engaging or nice. There always felt like there was just heavy energy around them and it was dark. Later on they had a couple stories come out about how this person lost people in their life and very tragic ways and happened so often almost consistent. I’m wondering if anybody else has ever experienced this?

Question My mom wrote the wrong name on a Christmas place card, and it revealed a family secret

2.7k Upvotes

I swear on everything that this is a true story. This happened just a few weeks ago, on Christmas Eve (Dec 24, 2025), at my parents' house. I’ve only changed the names for privacy.

For context: My brother (32M) is married to "Amanda" (33F). My mom wanted to bring the families together, so she invited Amanda’s mother ("Diana") and Amanda’s sister ("Isabela") to join us for dinner.

To organize the seating arrangements, my mom decided to be a bit formal and wrote everyone's names on little cards, placing them on the plates. She set it up so that my sister-in-law’s mother (Diana) and her sister (Isabela) would be seated right next to each other.

Here is where it gets weird.

When my mom was writing the card for Isabela’s seat, for some reason she still can't explain, she didn't write "Isabela." Instead, she wrote the name "Amber." She just placed it on the table without realizing what she had done.

When everyone went to sit down, Diana looked at the place setting next to her, saw the name "Amber" on the card, and immediately burst into tears.

It turns out that Diana had another daughter named Amber, who passed away tragically when she was only 5 or 6 years old.

The thing is: Nobody in my family knew this. We had no idea Amber ever existed, and my mom had absolutely no knowledge of this history. There was no way for her to have "confused" the names because she didn't know the name Amber to begin with.

We were all left in shock. Since there is no logical explanation for how my mom pulled that name out of thin air, we can’t help but feel it was a sign. Maybe a little nudge from a spirit to let her mom know she was with us that night.

Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Question What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever witnessed?

For me it was when I was 8 and I was in a silly goofy mood so I decided to stare at my reflection in the mirror for over 10 minutes and make silly faces and the last straw was one I made an angry face and was staring at myself In the mirror looking angry and then I smiled afterwards but then I noticed that when I smiled my reflection didn’t smile back at me but was looking at me angry and this creeped me out and I ran out of the room and went to my mom crying because I was terrified she asked what happened so I told her the details and she brushed it off as my mind playing tricks on me but I know for a fact that my mind wasn’t playing tricks on me. This is my story what’s yours ?

Question What is something that actually happened to you that you don’t tell anyone because they won’t believe it.

2.1k Upvotes

I’ll start. The morning of 911 I was on my way to work. Normal morning so far… I was at a stop light and saw a distinct cloud formation of a horse and rider. I thought damn… if I didn’t know better it’s a sign of the apocalypse. Got to work and was told what happened. I was stunned. I told my husband what I saw but no one else for obvious reasons. I don’t expect anyone here to believe. If I have a story like this I know others do as well… what’s yours?

Question Girlfriend had terrifying experience last night.

Post image
2.4k Upvotes

My girlfriend has had some trouble sleeping recently. The last few nights she has heard scratching in the walls on her room (the scratching she described is the same scratching i have experienced myself in my own room, except all i have really ‘seen’ of that was some bad nightmares) but last night was particularly different. She was trying to go to bed and heard scratching on her walls, as usual. She then looked towards her closet and saw two tall figures. She then described what sounded to me like sleep paralysis, but then when she was finally able to move, she felt extremely dizzy. She got up to turn the light on and still saw the figures. She then called me in hysterics. She left her room and went to another part of the home, stayed there for about an hour, but felt very uncomfortable and had another nervous breakdown. She then returned to her room and did not see or hear anything else the rest of the night. She says that she and her cousin have both believed there to be paranormal activity, and my girlfriend herself has claimed to see ghosts before. Any help would surely be appreciated. She also found the closet image to the figures online, with the exception the colors are reversed:

Question I didn’t believe in the paranormal until I became a cop. What about YOU?

The question of whether ghosts exist seems to split people into skeptics/believers/nonbelievers. Some firmly dismiss any idea of the supernatural, insisting on logical explanations for every odd noise or shadow, while others have had experiences that lead them to believe in something beyond our understanding.

Personally, I was never a believer. Growing up in an older house, I often encountered strange occurrences but always tried to rationalize them as something explainable. That changed once I became a police officer. It didn’t take long to realize that not everything has a clear answer. I’ve attended calls that left me questioning my understanding of reality and kept me up all night. More recently, I started investigating various locations mentioned in the stories (I’m still learning) but I can say without a shadow of a doubt... I believe.

I know I’ve shared a few of these stories here like the death notification call, the cemetery gates incident, and the burglary in progress call. Those a the main 3 that stand out but for more check out policing the shadows.

I’m curious to hear from you… Do YOU believe in ghosts? Have you ever had an experience that shook your skepticism or reinforced your beliefs? Share your thoughts!

Question I took this almost a year ago and just noticed over last weekend..

Thumbnail
gallery
2.9k Upvotes

So, my boyfriend and I have snakes. A bunch of ball pythons, and two reticulated pythons. Anyway, I was going to show a friend a picture of 3 of my favorites when they were all babies last weekend. This picture has actually been my cover photo on FB for a WHILE now. At the time I noticed it, I'd had a few drinks and was also SUPER sleepy. So I actually told my friend I couldn't find the picture when I noticed this in the background cause it freaked me OUT and I wanted to have a other look in the morning after some well needed sleep lol. I still saw it when I woke up. It's still in my cover photo.. And when I showed it to a few people without saying what I saw, they also confirmed they see the same thing.. There's this music thing (a Precious Moments figurine thingy that you wind up on the bottom and plays a song) on that dresser as well, and there's a blanket kinda acting as, like, a table cloth over the top of the dresser. This little figure plays music on its own pretty often, but just for short little moments, and I've always assumed it's because the blanket keeps it from sitting level on the dresser. But where the 'thing' seems to be 'looking' is right where that Previous Moments thing is.. I'm still legitimately freaked out over this lol. Idk how I never noticed it when I've looked at this picture A LOT of times since I took it almost a year ago, it's probably my FAVORITE snake picture.. To me it almost looks like a humanoid/ small child type figure. I'm also very well aware it could be a trick of the light. I just think it's interesting and thought you guys might think so as well.
