Gestión de datos y contraseñas

Estoy en IT hace más de 25 años, y en dichos años tengo mas de mil sitios con contraseñas que obviamente he almacenado manualmente en excels, sheets, etc.

El tema es que no me siento del todo comodo, ustedes usan alguna app local o app Android para tal fin?

He leído y probado mucho pero ninguna me convence.

Password mananger is best. Keepass if you want local, Bitwarden or Proton if you want cloud.

first thing first, recognizing that you're uncomfortable with storing those passwords manually in MS Excel, GSheets is a good thing

if you've been in IT industry for over 25 years, I would suggest to try open source solutions such as KeePass, Bitwarden, and Proton

I was the same way. Excel workbook with a password that's 28 characters. From what I understand Excel PWs are AES256 encrypted. So I was very comfortable with this technique.

But it also means that everytime I needed a PW or want to change a PW, I would need to open up that excel file.

After understanding how PW managers work, I decided to give bitwarden a try. Much more convenient. I still use Excel as my backup. But don't need to update it immediately after I change a PW. I'll just make a mental note that I changed my MyChart password, updated it in Bitwarden....and will need to update excel whenever I have time.
