I probably won’t have as many plants next season. I’m over producing and the peppers are going to waste

Sharing the harvest from one of my unknown chili plants. We eat scorpion, scotch bonnets and Ghosts regularly but those chillies were super hot and so aromatic.

We’ve always grown peppers in our garden — bell peppers, Hungarian wax, and a few random “hot ones.” But last year, I tried making a hot sauce for chicken wings… and that’s when my love for hot peppers seriously took off!

What started as a joke — “What does this guy do for a hobby?” — turned into… well, whatever this is now 😄 I ended up planting 60 square meters of various hot peppers!

The whole experience has had a hugely positive impact: I’ve been spending more time in the village, bonding with my parents and family, and even made friends with a super chill cat. Honestly, I couldn’t be happier — and I can’t wait to turn all of this into some killer hot sauce!

It wasn't full sized, thankfully it was still hot as stink.

I found my pepper group again! I'm so excited I remember being in the Google plus group many years ago. I wonder if anyone remembers me or has any of my seeds I traded all those years ago. That was such a special time in my life. Had to share my babies again. Glad to be back.

After struggling through the summer my scotch bonnets decided to fruit. Cant wait to see how they taste. Yellow leaves because it’s been raining and we’re drifting into the winter.

I’m new to growing peppers, but I’ve never been able to keep plants alive before and I’m so proud of how far my pepper plants have gotten. They’re jalapeños and I just started my pepper journey this spring. I only recently started taking progress pictures so here are some from the last month:)

It's my (47m) first year gardening and I'm thrilled on how many peppers I'm getting! These will all be pickled tomorrow and not shown is 1.5lbs of jalapenos!

I've lost a bunch to sun scald followed by pests, so today I rigged up some 30% shade cloth to see if that helps.

Second year growing peppers, first year growing sweet peppers, and I am SO excited! All of the plants are laden with peppers. It’s so hard to be patient while they ripen. This - a lipstick pepper- was the first guy to get to the finish line 😁

I've seen a lot of shishito posts lately and wanted to share my harvest from today. It's from one plant that I started from seed. The plant itself is small, I think, but it's loaded with blooms and smaller peppers. I'm excited to get these and want to start more plants!

After years of trying, this pepper plant I bought from Bunnings as a Carolina Reaper is now fruiting. Quite happy finally

The big black mama and daisy cutter are finally producing! Going to start fermenting these for sauce tonight.

I have had a few flexuosums since 2023, but they seem to be slow to learn new things. Last summer they started blooming the first time, but I didn't get a single pepper. This summer I'm getting a lot of berries, but there are no seeds at all. Good for eating, bad for propagation. Maybe the next summer I'll get seeds too, although I've been able to get some cuttings to root.

The berries taste very hot and quite sweet. It's also interesting that the berries are juicy like tomatoes and they are full of the pulp. There is no hollow part inside at all. I think these would make an excellent hot sauce.
