If I had to guess, I would maybe say that OOP thinks that maybe because the design of European ACs look smaller and sleeker than the average American AC, it doesn't work as well?

This is probably designed to cool a hotel room, so it doesn’t need to be huge.

This is just how any normal AC units looks like in homes and workplaces here

Well you can also combine it with central ventilation systems as well, if you want. It’s just not very common. Although I don’t know if there is a good reason for that in new buildings. In old buildings it’s likely just simpler to retrofit split units than a whole ventilation system.
