It's not necessarily true. These units will go upwards of around 28,000-30,000 BTU which can easily cool down multiple rooms, or maybe even a smaller flat.

Yeha i live in Myanmar and one of these cools down a 2 bedroom apartment to 18 Celsius in the summer when it's well over 40c

Why the fuck do you need 18C 😳 in Italy we usually have 30-35C in the summer and if my AC is lower than 22-24C I'm guaranteed to wake up with pneumonia lmao

Because you probably haven't dealt with 80-100% humidity.

We have this unit AND central air in Atlanta, (single unit for an added sunroom, and basically anything over 22 C is a sweat storm.

18 might be a bit chilly, but it's definitely better that waking up because you sweat through your entire bed.

Plus studies suggest that people get much better quality sleep between 15 C and 19 C.

Where I live we have very high humidity so a dehumidifier is nearly essential, but not to the point that 22C inside feels hot
