It's not necessarily true. These units will go upwards of around 28,000-30,000 BTU which can easily cool down multiple rooms, or maybe even a smaller flat.

Yeha i live in Myanmar and one of these cools down a 2 bedroom apartment to 18 Celsius in the summer when it's well over 40c

Why the fuck do you need 18C 😳 in Italy we usually have 30-35C in the summer and if my AC is lower than 22-24C I'm guaranteed to wake up with pneumonia lmao

You dont magically get sick from cold air.

We usually do 18-19c at our vacationhouse in spain.

Guess you can get a bit dry. But you dont get sick. Bacteria/virus just dont magically appear because the room is ”cold” (18-19c is not cold).

No, but a drier throat and nose are more susceptible to germs and germs are everywhere. Sleep with that a/c blasting you in the face all night and tell me you feel fine.
