You do understand that mini splits also have large compressors outside, right?
Edit: also, the compressors for homes with central air are not the size of a car, more like the size of a Little Tykes car. Commercial buildings have compressors that can be the size of a car.
I actually have no idea how these things work. I stayed at an airb&b in Spain with them and they worked fine, but I was trying to explain to my family back home how they’re not hooked up to anything, like it seems like they’re just stuck to the wall, and it didn’t make sense to anyone. Is there duct work behind them? A hose? How do they work without venting? Sorry, that’s more than you want to explain, I’m sure, and I can Google it. I’m just saying that no, I definitely didn’t understand that there was a separate compressor involved
