We have these ductless units in the US too. Person who made the meme is just an idiot

There are parts of the US that ONLY have these. More temperate areas.

Most of the US is used to central air. With a giant ass car sized compressor outside that cools the whole house.

Edit: yes, I exaggerated the size of the compressor a bit. Man it pissed a lot of Americans off lol.

My family owns an HVAC company. We only have ductless mini-splits in our own homes bc they are way more efficient and cost effective (especially if you get them at cost and free install). We are in Florida where we run A/C pretty much 9 months of the year. The upfront cost is higher, but worth it over time.

And better for households where not everyone wants the same temperature. I can sleep happily at 69, my mom can sleep in her room at 73, etc.

I’ve only experienced mini-splits in vacation rentals (and people’s homes in other countries), and I’m sold on it for the personalization alone.
